We’re launching something big, and we want you with us❤️

We’re seeking 100 Investors in Hope. 100 people or groups pledging $2,500 each to fund one day of outreach in 2026. That’s meals served, supplies shared, and relationships built with neighbors working toward stability.

A mom homeschooling her kids at the library saw the sign that said “expungement applications” and whispered, “I need that.” Hours later, she became the first guest to walk out with her expungement process complete.

On Monday, the @columbuslibrary Hilltop Branch became more than a library. It became a courthouse, a clinic, a workforce hub, and a community table.

💼 60+ expungements completed
🍽️ 250+ guests engaged with services
🏠 90+ follow-ups for housing, IDs, and legal support

Huge thank you to Attorney Lisa Armour, Judge Jim O’Grady, Attorney Adam D. Vincent and his amazing team of volunteer attorneys from the Public Defender’s Office, Attorney Laurie Arsenault, Attorney William Sieloff, Tate Wooding, Attorney Dianna Parker, Attorney Lauren Williams, and Judge Carl A. Aveni. We could not have done any of this without you.

And did we mention this was just the launch? Stay tuned, there's plenty more to come👀

“Teams should lift up their weakest members. Communities thrive when everyone in them is thriving.”

Seven years ago, we took that to heart - and launched Make-A-Day with a simple Pop-Up and a big vision.

Since then, it’s become a movement.

We'd love for everyone to meet our newest board member, Eric!

Eric is a business and technology leader with a passion for bringing people, ideas, and organizations together to create meaningful change. He volunteers with Bethany Presbyterian Church’s Community Lunch, where he has experienced firsthand the power of a meal to create connection, dignity, and a sense of belonging.

When he’s not working or serving the community, Eric enjoys gardening, renovating historic houses, and the history of the Bronzeville neighborhood in which he resides.

Eric is grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Make-A-Day board because its work goes beyond providing immediate assistance. Meeting people where they are, building trust, and helping remove the barriers that stand between someone and a more stable future reflects what he believes community service should be about. by @makeadayhq

Thank you to everyone who joined Christy and Ben @columbuscoalition for their @colsfoundation Big Table Conversation "If I Can't Sleep Here, Where Can I?"

Encampment sweeps are an unfortunate reality of homelessness here in Columbus. But when camps are moved, the problem doesn't disappear. Residents forced to relocate lose belongings, documents, medication, and community.

Thank you to everyone who came to listen, learn, share their story, and talk honestly about what's happening and what should be happening. Thank you for giving our community and our concerns a voice. by @makeadayhq

It's way back Wednesday!

Monday we celebrated @carolstewartvillage's 6 year anniversary! Back in 2020, they gave keys to their first residents; youth entering transitional housing. We were invited to celebrate their grand opening in the fall of 2021 and were so excited to be welcomed back for this event. So we're throwing it back with some pictures from 2021 and today!

Thank you to Carol Stewart Village and @starhousecolumbus for your continued partnership. by @makeadayhq

What do you do when the systems where you live don't work for you?

We recently worked with a guest who was very reluctant to enter shelter here in Columbus. Due to their past experiences and current circumstances, it was clear that this shelter system wouldn't work for them.

Our team worked with this guest to find a program outside of the county that better fit their individual needs. Thanks to our Stability Fund, we were able to provide transportation to this care facility, and they have since returned to Columbus and are now actively housed!

Individualized care means looking beyond the options that are easiest to offer and finding what will actually work for each guest. What initially felt unsolvable wasn't due to a lack of options, but a lack of options that fit. By finding the right program and removing the barrier of transportation, this guest was able to move toward stability.

The last Friday of every month, we’re sharing stories about how our Stability Fund is helping guests in real time and asking you to donate just $5 to help ensure this fund is there for guests when they need it most.

You can donate to our Stability Fund today at www.makeaday.fun/give

Help us welcome Konrad to the Make-A-Day Team!

Konrad hails from South Carolina. He received his bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina and served a previous AmeriCorps term with City Year Columbia.

Throughout his service year, Konrad will work with both our development and advancement teams to build and refine the systems that help Make-A-Day understand, strengthen, and report our impact.

Outside of service, Konrad enjoys singing in choirs, performing in local theatres, and playing Dungeons and Dragons. He looks forward to integrating with the Make-A-Day team and the rest of the Columbus community. by @makeadayhq
