An excellent, incisive, necessary corrective to any narratives that John Howard did anything other damage and hold back Australia. The chapter on Indigenous Rights is particularly sobering. Thanks @pyjamapolitics , this is benchmark journalism and analysis. I give this my most staunch reccomendation. Buy it, order it at your local library, give it to people who can't afford it, buy it again.
 Book of the decade.
Fight the power, claim back the narrative. I am so angry I can't even enjoy being vindicated in my long years of despising Honest John. Brilliant. by @makeanddo_tas

An elegant, aching meditation on space and how history permeates it. Brigita Ozolins and Dean Stevenson have really pulled one out. Superlative work from talents who have nothing to prove, and have proved it anyway. This is impressive: the bar has been raised for interaction with heritage spaces and troubling history. God damn. by @makeanddo_tas

The wonderful artist Gay Hawkes has gone. She was like no other, making art and furniture in way particular to her. She lived in the Southern Beaches region, and her work exudes a windswept, water-carved quality. She was resilient, and prescient, her work addressed climate breakdown and being human.
She will be missed by her community, her friends and by the arts scene of Lutruwita.
Thanks for work that was all your own Gay. I never met you, but your art touched my heart as few have.

Thanks Andrew, for the wonderful write up about 177 Nations of Tasmania, and my personal contribution to the project.

“Andy Wilson is an excellent photographer with great skill, but in this project, he is profoundly sensitive to people as well.
His work is inquisitive and exciting, and he really manages to respect every single person here.

“Alongside Mark Thomson’s ability to give people space to tell their stories, Wilson has made everyone look amazing while also just being themselves - and that marks him as a terrific artist.

“177 Nations of Tasmania is a special project that continues to grow. While it is more than a collection of striking images, Andy Wilson does deserve to be noted as someone that knows what they are doing, and has a special flair for his subject that is quietly breathtaking.”

"There's an underlying implementation that Nicole is an introduced species, and that there are introduced values gestured to in the works, laid over what the space of Lutruwita actually is"

A long bit of speculative critical writing that looks at work by artist @nicole_p_oloughlin, colonialism, social media's race to the bottom, and the ideology that denies it exists.

I am quite pleased with this one.

It took a bit to finish.
