In the spring, I had the honor of speaking on a panel hosted by @kubo.lb, @faccslaa, and the SoCal Filipino Chamber of Commerce — celebrating Resilient & Rising Women Who Own Their Spaces. 💛

As a proud Filipina immigrant and small business owner, it meant so much to sit alongside powerhouse women and share what it really looks like to build creative, community-rooted businesses that reflect our values, our stories, and our culture.

Representation in business and leadership matters — especially when you’ve had to turn creative challenges into opportunity and impact.

Maraming salamat for the honor — proud to lead, speak, and rise as a Filipina visionary, rooted in gratitude and purpose. ☀️ 🇵🇭 ♥️

Okay, if you’re into vintage stuff, small-batch goods, or just want something different for your home—𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 is so worth checking out.

They have vinyl, clothes, furniture, and handmade pieces you won’t find anywhere else. And yeah, the vibe? Totally Long Beach.

It’s one of those spots where you pop in for a gift… and leave with five things you didn’t know you needed.

My whole 💞 🥹 right now!

It has been super easy to love and let @kat_engel in my life before even deciding to move to Long Beach, 2 years ago. Her fun and intentional shop @makecollectives in downtown Long Beach was the first small biz I spend my dollars at as a vistor and eventually had my first ever @soulcarealchemy event as a resident, when I rebirth from sabbatical in early 2025. Kat has always created an environment for me that was welcoming with good hip hop music, aroma that have you leaving her shop smelling great and feeling inspired and just all things creativity. What’s real about my experience is that she creates this resonates for everyone who stops by and shops there. I even helped out at the shop on the weekends for a short period of time and it was straight out of a Hallmark movie but with a positive ongoing ending lol. I needed that, sis!

I love her, her shop and her family so much that we became friends.

Thank you for supporting Soul Affirmations Deck, sharing me and my work with your amazing community, and speaking life into me from the very first moment we met back in March of 2024. Your genuine kindness, biz savvy advice and intentionality around curating beautiful experiences is soul medicine.
