We can’t just hope the algorithm is going to throw us a bone if we don’t engage.
Be consistent.
Be online.
Be active.

Marketing campaigns run without understanding the emotions of our customers are a waste of time, money, and attention.

Marketers need to be online a lot, we need to be observing and interacting with customers, and we need to be constantly learning and adjusting everything.

Thanks to Cody Strate and Forbes for the wisdom.

This is why it’s important for our posts to be able to stand alone, communicate the priority messaging, and not be depended on as an urgent means of communication (that’s what SMS marketing is for).
If there is a specific date associated with the post, use the ‘Add Reminder’ feature on Instagram.
“In three days, this happens...”
“You only have one day left...”
“The deadline is the end of the day...”
“In two days, I’ll announce an announcement for a future thing...”
Post captions like this will only confuse people and possibly dissuade them from paying attention because of the assumption that the deadline has passed.

Let’s pave the way for the content we invest in creating to make the biggest impact. One of the ways to do so is posting consistently.
Ignoring socials except for a few pieces of content sporadically is telling the algorithm that we are not invested in the platform, so why would the platform invest in us? Thoughts?

It’s not selfish to post about your art or your product. You can find ways that feel organic. It’s an invitation, not a sales pitch. It’s worth figuring this out! - MW #digitalmarketing #socialmediamarketing by @makellamarketing

Gone are the days of subtle hints, vague clues, and teasing announcements of more announcements of things to come.
When we post that type of content, we’re wasting valuable attention and trusting a complicated algorithm to bring people back to our content, which is NOT a guarantee. - MW

Potential customer’s emotions need to be cornerstones of our marketing efforts. Let’s align with them at every stage of the ‘consumer decision-making process.’ Thanks to @harvard_business_review for the insight. - MW #digitalmarketing #socialmediamarketing by @makellamarketing

We can’t control how people see our content so let’s make sure each piece can be understood on its own and communicates the priority messaging. - MW

It’s a well-used phrase but work smarter, not harder when it comes to content. Content is valuable and there are so many ways to make the most of what you have.

Felt the truth of this yesterday at the concert I attended. It was a 20-year anniversary tour of an album and the whole time, the music was transporting me back to a formative time of my life.
It would be helpful to connect your product or art to people by tapping into nostalgia. - MW

Let’s not get so caught up in the process that we don’t see an opportunity when it pops up. It will probably appear somewhere unexpected and look different than we imagined. - MW #digitalmarketing #socialmediamarketing by @makellamarketing
