Updating my portfolio! I wanted to paint fire/smoke and also try out different painting mediums. On this I used liquin fine detail, which I actually enjoyed a lot! Still trying to move away from using only gamsol lol

12”x18” oil painting,, swipe for some close ups!! I’ve been painting my last couple illustrations pretty small just to test it out, but I think I’m done painting tiny heads for a bit after this lol. I feel pretty happy with how this one turned out ! by @makennu

Paintings from the Humboldt Open Paint Out! I’ve done this event for three years now,, pretty cooool. I told myself I would do 18 paintings but only hit 15. Had to stop before I turned into a husk of a person 🙏 by @makennu

This is the third box art I did for Planarist. Probably my favorite just because of the colors! It is an 18” by 24” oil on board. Winsor blue (green shade) and pthalo green really pull through for bright blue greens like this. Also I love purple 🔮

Plein Air Montana 2026 recap. It was a lot of fun! I’ve never been to a juried plein air festival before, and I’ve also never been to Montana, so it was a great experience. Currently spending the week in Glacier National Park, then back to illustrating! by @makennu

This is the second box art I did for Planarist! 18” by 24” oil on board. The process after doing the first one was pretty simplified, since the compositions are basically the same. I had to plug characters in and also come up with a background. This background is probably my favorite of the three.
