*Insta flagged this as AI content but I promise that NO AI WAS USED. This is all art done by real artists and I do not use any of Canva’s AI tools. I HATE AI, I’m very vocal about how much I hate it, and I will never use it!*

I decided to turn my favorite books into classic covers that look like @penguinclassics books. I LOOOVE the Penguin classic book covers 😂 I wish I knew how to book bind/had the tools to do paperback rebinds so I could make some of these but for now I’ll just continue having fun designing them in Canva!😂

Some of the art is classic art from hundreds of years ago, but for the modern art I’ve watermarked and tagged the artists if their settings allow them to be tagged! (And if you don’t want your art included please let me know and I will delete that slide!🫶🏼)

This post was Inspired by not only Penguin Classics, but also Nina (@fireboundbooks) who makes the most stunning “Firebound Classics” rebinds of the ACOTAR series, and she also made me a Firebound Classics bind of The Assassin’s Blade which is one of my most treasured books🥹🫶🏼

Woohoo! I got an award for my painting, “Campfire for Two,” at the Humboldt Open Paint Out!! I’m so stoked! The day that I painted this piece, I had been running around all day working, doing errands, and meeting a group for dinner so I didn’t have time to paint all day! I had a goal to do at least one painting a day, though, so when I got home from dinner I wheelbarrowed a bunch of rocks and wood from my parents house (two doors down) to make the fire pit, found some camp chairs, and set this sweet little scene up! During the whole painting I kept stoking the fire to try to keep the lighting consistent, but every once and a while would be so focused on putting paint on the canvas that my fire almost went out a couple times, so I had to jump up and rush to save it 😂. I ended up staying up until 1:30 that night to finish painting! This week has been a ton of fun, and a ton of hard work! There were so many incredible pieces of art created over the last week in Humboldt, it’s just amazing! If you’re a painter, definitely come join us next year! It’s an incredible event!! #pleinairpainting #oilpainting #camping

So I’ve been back from IX con for a few days now… and holy moly 🤯 I dont think any other event has been as impactful as this one was for me in terms of how I think about art.

I’ve been doing art for a while, since before I can remember and I always thought I knew what I wanted to do in the art world. But after these past few months of experiencing burnout and, sad to say, falling out of love with art for a while, my flame for art has been reignited. New goals and inspiration to study 😤

Wanted to say a big thank you to everyone I met and talked to, such a friendly vibe the whole week and some invaluable advice 👏

Gotta take some time to study up now 😤
