Prepaying gratuities with Disney Cruise Line means less to pay after your cruise! Currently, the prepay price is $16 per person per night, regardless of age, for non-concierge staterooms. If you don’t prepay, the same amount will be charged to your onboard folio during your cruise… BUT prepaid gratuities were not always this price! Since 2018, they’ve increased about every 2-2.5 years!! This current price began in January 2025, so it may not be long before they increase again! **The sooner the better for adding prepaid gratuities. If you add them to your cruise reservation before an increase, you will not be subjected to the increased rate even if you haven’t cruised and/or paid your final balance yet! To prepay, add them in the Navigator app or contact your travel agent to take care of it for you 😊 If you don’t have a travel agent, I’d LOVE to be yours! DM me! ✨ Ready for a Disney adventure? Why does early boarding matter, you ask? ✨To grab a chair with a great location on the pool deck ✨Be one of the first to ride the AquaMouse without a line ✨Get some amazing food from the buffet before the crowd ✨Take a swim in an almost-empty pool ✨Have a drink in your hand and the sun on your face sooner! There’s absolutely NOTHING bad about getting on the ship early, and the perks are amazing 🤩 Who doesn’t want to start their vacation as soon as possible?!? ✨ Ready for a Disney adventure? Many people don’t realize that Magic Bands can be shortened! Without doing so, adults with small wrists and children end up with a lot of extra band wrapped around, which can be uncomfortable! **Before following these directions to shorten your band, make sure that BOTH prongs will fit into holes in the section above the perforation! . . . ✨ Ready for a Disney adventure? SO many amazing souvenir choices at Disney’s Castaway Cay, and most are not sold elsewhere! To be honest, I did buy almost all of these things, unless I already had them (Mickey Crocs lol) but this one was a HUGE fan favorite with my kids!! . . . ✨ Want more Disney tips and tricks? It is SO important to know that if you have a child who is not potty trained, they cannot go in the swimming pools on Disney Cruise Line ships (or any cruise line pool, for that matter!). 🏊‍♀️ BUT, as always, Disney does it best, and they have a designated splash zone area for those kids where swim diapers are allowed on every single one of their ships! 🙌🏼 Just another example of the Disney difference 🥰 ✨ Want more Disney tips? Let me start off by saying you do not HAVE to have a MagicBand for your Disney Cruise… quickly followed up by, but they make life SO much easier! When your stateroom is ready on embarkation day, there will be an envelope left outside your door (usually on the fish extender hook) with a Key to the World Card for each guest in your stateroom. This is essentially a plastic key card that you have to carry around for everything… unless you have a MagicBand! And your MagicBand can do even more than your key card!! With your MagicBand you can… ✨Shop onboard and at both Disney private islands ✨Scan off and back on the ship ✨Unlock your door ✨Buy alcoholic drinks and specialty coffees ✨Make purchases at the sweet shop ✨✨Check into the kids club, which can’t be done with a Key to the World card!! (They will issue you one with a deposit on your account for each kid if you register for the kids club and don’t have one) 🚨PRO TIP: Don’t waste space in your bag for MagicBand chargers. The fab inside works whether it’s charged or not, and the lights and vibrations aren’t synced to anything on Disney cruise ships like they are in Walt Disney World! 🚨🚨 BONUS: Be sure that you have a MagicBand+!! The original MagicBands that don’t have light/vibration technology are not compatible with Disney Cruise Line! 🚨🚨🚨Check out my reel that shows how to SHORTEN your MagicBand for kids and adults with smaller wrists: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Db-tmW1hjoo/?psln=MWpyYTg4cDBkNzd4Mg== 🌟I do recommend having kids set them aside in your bag when swimming at the beach! ✨ Want more Disney tips and tricks? These three Disney Cruise traditions (plus a bonus at the end!!) are sooo fun!! Of course, completely optional though 😄 🚪 Door decorating — many people decorate with Disney themed magnets, and sometimes door-size printed banners. We’ve purchased magnet sets off Amazon, bought personalized magnets from Etsy, and even made our own (ex. Up house)! 🎣 Fish extender — This is a set of connected pockets made of cloth, often with names on each pocket. There is almost always a hook just outside your stateroom door to hang it on! 🧚🏼 Pixie Dust — small gifts that are left for you by other cruisers in your fish extender pockets, or sometimes magnets right on your door! We’ve purchased Disney items in bulk off Amazon including stickers, Mickey bubbles and straws, glow sticks, Mickey and Minnie notepads, and more! 🌟Extras — We also use a magnetic hook to hang a lollipop holder outside our door for others to take. We’ve seen people leave other bags of special/unique candy. We’ve also seen a question of the day with post-it’s on doors! Our favorite activity is bringing 3D printed tiny ducks with Mickey ears (Etsy!) and hiding them all over the ship for others to find! ❌ If you don’t bring a fish extender, we’ve seen people get creative and hang a plastic bag on their door hook for people to leave goodies in! 💻You can find a Facebook group for your cruise and sign up for a fish extender exchange. You’re assigned rooms to pixie dust, and others will be assigned your room. My family does NOT participate in these exchanges. We find it much more fun and natural to go up and down our own hall to leave gifts for those around us, and we always get things too! 🚨Be sure to follow DCL’s guidelines or you may be FINED! No over-the-door hooks/organizers, tape, adhesives, video, sound, or anything on the ceiling or walls around your door! ✨ Want more Disney tips and tricks? Ready for a Disney vacation? EPCOT is the park I’ll splurge for Premier Pass over and over again! There are THREE group 1 rides in EPCOT that typically run out of lightning lane return times super early for Multi Pass: Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and Test Track. With Multi Pass, you can only pre-book one of them. If you plan things out perfectly, you may be able to get a second of the three for later on in the day. Getting all three is VERY difficult with Multi Pass! These three rides typically have a 1-hour or longer wait time for most of the day, even right up until closing. You could try and rope drop one, but will likely still wait quite a while in that line. For my family, this is one extra expense that is SO worth it. Not having to rush into the park for rope drop allowed us to have a slower and less stressful start to the day. We even got to interact with a few characters without feeling the need to rush to rope drop a ride! We had so much flexibility in the day that we were able to leave EPCOT for about 2 hours, return for dinner, and do a few more rides before fireworks! We were able to do every single attraction that we wanted to do without having my face in the phone to constantly rebook rides, and not waiting more than 5 minutes for any ride! I wouldn’t pay for Premier Pass in any park, but EPCOT is definitely a great choice for Premier Pass! 🌐 #premierpass #EPCOT #skiptheline #disneytips #makingmagicwithholly by @makingmagicwithholly
Do NOT miss Mickey churro waffle day!!! It usually takes place during the last full day of your Disney cruise, and they are served ONLY at the buffet! Lucky for you, that’s right next to the pool deck, and you can easily grab a cup of free ice cream to make a Mickey churro waffle ice cream sandwich! 😋 . . . ✨ Want more Disney tips and tricks? I mean, is it really a question? 🤣 In almost all cases, I recommend a verandah! Having a little private slice of the ocean is the tranquility I need. Adults can capitalize on this space for some separation after kids go to bed, and for early morning coffee! It’s also super handy to have the fresh air for anyone who is prone to motion sickness, and having an ocean breeze coming through your room while getting ready for dinner is 🤌🏼 chef’s kiss! In most cases, it’s only a couple hundred dollars more. Totally worth it in my eyes! 😍 . . . ✨ Want more Disney tips and tricks? Ready for a Disney vacation?
