It is a sad day for our community. My Sigung was a tremendous force for the promotion of Chinese martial arts. His contribution is unmatched. I did not know him well, but for 20 years I trained beneath the watchful eyes of his portrait, hung above the wooden dummy. His name was renowned, and his story approached legend. His loss will be felt by many. I think when I am in at Shaolin temple in Denfeng next week, I will burn an incense and say a prayer on Song mountain; I can think of no better tribute. Rest well, Sigung. by @makingthemaster

Pour yourself dram and turn the sound up loud; we lost one of the best today. Maybe the best there ever was.
I don’t participate in celebrity, but @glenhansard was the singular exception. If you don’t know him, do yourself a favour and check him out; something live, like “Her Mercy” at Funkhaus. Something live, because that’s what he was. He was real — so real. And you could feel it in every beat. We finally saw him live this spring, and it was greatest performance I’ve ever seen. That I ever will see. He was the voice of a generation, and I am beside myself this evening. The world is a darker place today without his light… I promise you, we are, all of us, we’re just so lucky to have lived on this earth at the same time he. by @makingthemaster

Today was my first Father’s Day as a dad. It has been a wonderful year, I am blessed in my life. The only thing missing is my own father, and I miss him dearly. I do my best to enjoy every moment with my son, because of the lessons I learned when I lost my dad. I realized today, perhaps, it was the last thing he ever taught me.
Thanks, Dad. I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without all the lessons.. by @makingthemaster
