I’m incredibly grateful to have been on The Chosen! 🎬

This series truly exists to help people encounter God, and the level of excellence and intentionality on set reflects that mission in such a powerful way.

I’m so grateful for the lifelong friendships that were made, and the opportunity to be a small part of something that is impacting so many lives.

What a blast! 🤌

Happy birthday mom! Yesterday I finished a reading plan of Psalms and Proverbs, ending with Proverbs 31. I came across some scripture in that chapter that reminded me of you:

- 25 “Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.”
- 26 “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”
‭‭
‭‭It’s interesting to note that “teaching of kindness” in this context refers to the Hebrew words ‘torah’ (instruction/law) and ‘chesed’ (steadfast, covenant loyalty, and loving-kindness).

- 30 “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

I am grateful to have a mother like you. Thank you for birthing me, raising me, and teaching me. Thank you for sharpening me, and pushing me always to grow. In times like these where motherhood is under spiritual attack constantly, you are a beautiful picture of what it should look like. I love you mom. Happy birthday! ♥️💐 by @malakey_wells

Roma, Italy 🏛️ pt. II

Honeymoon adventure pt. VI

The final leg of our journey finished where we started, Rome! This time around the focus was on the Mamertine prison (where Peter and Paul were likely held). This was a very surreal experience to have gone down into that cell where some of the Bible was potentially written. Then we shifted to the Coliseum, which was an incredible experience. I loved that the first thing you see when you walk in is a large cross.

This honeymoon was beyond special. I am so grateful that the Lord paved a way for this honeymoon to happen. I have always wanted to go to Italy, and what better way to fulfill that dream than to go with my Italian Princess. @caroline.zananiri I love you! taken in Roma, Italia by @malakey_wells

Milan, Italy 🛍️

Honeymoon adventure pt. V

Milaaaaaan darling… The shopping capital of the world was a lot of fun. The shops are extremely upscale and many folks there look like celebrities. Went to the top of the Duomo which was so much fun and took some courage from Caro. Seeing the Last Supper was a true delight as well! taken in Milano, Italy by @malakey_wells

Brescia, Italy 🏰

Honeymoon adventure pt. IV

Brescia was a particularly special part of our trip. Brescia means “high place” and is the family name on Caroline’s mother’s side and the origin of their family. I felt it was important to cut Venice a day short and make Brescia apart of our trip. It felt like God wanted us there. And sure enough, it was the most peace we felt on the entire trip. God did so much in the short time we were there. We will surely be back. These photos are mainly taken on and around Castello di Brescia which is one of the largest fortresses in Europe. It was amazing. taken in Brescia, Italy by @malakey_wells

Venice, Italy 🛶

Honeymoon adventure pt. III

Venice was the third city of our journey and was also the shortest amount of time we spent in a city. The canals that wind throughout the city are a remarkable sight. Would like to come back during the summer someday to hopefully get a different experience. taken in Venezia, Italy by @malakey_wells

Florence, Italy 🍝

Honeymoon adventure pt. II

Florence was an absolute dream of a city. It truly felt as if we were in a movie. Almost everywhere we went there was someone singing or playing an instrument beautifully. To be there on Christmas was the perfect cherry on top. It looks and feels like those little porcelain Christmas villages. The food, and the culture of this city were most excellent. Getting Caroline’s hair done, the cooking class, and buying high quality leather gifts were some of my favorite memories. We will be back someday. 🤌 taken in Firenze, Italy by @malakey_wells

7 years ago, today. My dad died and came back to life. He is a walking testament to the goodness of God. This photo of him walking back into frame from the wheat field with a huge smile on his face was taken a year later at the wedding of @jon.zan and @brianazananiri and serves as a perfect picture of his miracle.

7 years later, I felt it was important to share the testimony again.

My mom and dad had been faithfully leading communion in the days leading up to this event which culminated on the start of Passover. During the first Passover in Exodus, God instructed the people through Moses to sacrifice a spotless lamb and to mark the doorposts of their homes with its blood. Thank God, our doorpost was marked.

On the night of April 19, 2019 I was playing basketball at Independence Park, and sprained my ankle on a friend’s foot. I remember being frustrated, not knowing this injury would serve to be a blessing the very next day. I was supposed to be at school that day, decorating for a pep rally. But instead, on April 20, 2019, I was there in the living room, icing my ankle when dad came home from working his second job. (My mom had a feeling he needed to be home and requested he come home early). I remember he went outside to mow the lawn and came back in looking for refreshment, he grabbed an apple and went to sit down on his chair right behind me. Suddenly, I heard my mom screaming my dad’s name, “EMIL!”. I whipped my head around and saw that his eyes had rolled back. He was gone. But I knew what to do. Thank God I paid attention in my 8th grade health class. I instructed mom to call 911 and pulled dad off the couch, propped his head up and began CPR. Compressions. Rescue breaths. Repeat. They said I performed CPR for 15 minutes straight, which is a miracle in itself. When EMTs arrived, they used AEDs until they could find a steady pulse. I remember banging my fists on the ground, in violent, earnest prayer that God would show mercy and bring my dad back.

What followed could only be described as an equal combination of war and peace. Family and friends came together, and many more miracles were had. I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you God. ❤️ by @malakey_wells

Rome, Italy 🏛️

Honeymoon adventure pt. I

After our amazing wedding, and our first flight together, Rome was truly the perfect start to our adventure. What made it even sweeter was that we landed in Rome on Caroline’s birthday which marked the first day even more. The food, the history, the colors and life were all so memorable. I am still amazed at the goodness of God for allowing us to go on such an amazing trip. We returned to later in this trip to see even more of this epic city…

Stay tuned for the next city! taken in Roma, Italia by @malakey_wells
