Introducing our 2nd artist for the Nabd AmbiTent — Malak Hossam, aka Malalaalaaa.

A Cairo-based multidisciplinary artist, DJ, and somatic practitioner, Malalaalaa moves effortlessly between techno, leftfield club music, and experimental sounds.

Her playful and unpredictable approach to mixing brings together dreamy textures, energy, and a distinct palate for all kinds of music — always with a strong connection to movement and the dancefloor.

A familiar presence in Cairo’s underground scene, she has shared lineups with artists including Jane Fitz, Liliane Chlela, Zeina, 3Phaz, and Hassan Abou Alam, while also being a key part of communities like Fractal Cairo and Music Fair Cairo.

She’ll be joining us at the @nabd_records Ambitent by @malalaalaaa

Threads are playful in the way they could create shapes, and forms showing us how one could be shaped by the spaces, memories, experiences, and dreams that form connections within & without that are very much alive, and present.
Humans were thought of as the most resilient beings, they could either hold on to certain threads too tightly that they start to loose their flexible nature creating weak stiff threads that could break at any moment. Humans could also create living threads that can carry, release, transform or be shaped. Remembering their original form they could expand, contract, take in, and pause.
