hi there, recap:

two weeks ago we were in linz for @arselectronica to look at the art but also because our project @hiii.flynn was nominated for the s+t+arts prize ‘26 @startseu thank you to the jury, to @ubermorgen_com and @digitalekunstklasse at @dieangewandte, to @anika and to everyone who has called flynn over the past year!

the same week, our project The News went live on @objktcom for the exhibition Stories We Tell Online, curated by @anika @thesecondguess for which eight news anchors with no ai inside are reporting on non existent news, forever, like a guided meditation for doom.

Next week we’re moving to karlsruhe for a few months for the @rauschenbergfoundation residency @zkmkarlsruhe and we’ll be posting more often from there, pinky promise 🤞

After sailing for the first time this April in Rijeka during the exhibition The World is Sleepwalking curated by @danielacot at @drugomore, the All Inclusive AI Hell Cruise sailed for a second time at @digitalekunstklasse during this years @dieangewandte festival.

Passengers board the AI Hell Cruise through their phones on which they answer our questions around AI: How often do you use AI? Does it make you anxious? Do you think it will replace you? Our sorting system assigns you one of nine decks based on your answers. Each deck is run by its own agent, embodying one bubble of the current AI discourse and feeding off of what you keep telling it.

The accelerationists get a deck, the doomers get a deck, everybody gets a deck!

For the duration of the piece, positions that usually never have to be in the same room are challenged into coexistence on the same ship. After all, we’re all in the same boat, sailing towards the same uncertainty.

This project is a continuation of the @aifatigue_agent that we started to work on a year ago when AI fatigue still felt like a niche condition. But as the world keeps getting sloppier and sloppier, the All Inclusive AI Hell Cruise becomes an analytical tool to step out of the hyperpresent, allowing us to look at it from a perspective (or deck) that isn’t ours.

Among 652 submissions to the RestART Reality Open Call, one work resonated so strongly with jury member Soh Yeong Roh @sohyeong_roh that she initiated an additional prize: a Special Recognition from Art Center Nabi @art_center_nabi specifically for this project.
Don’t Be Such an Image stood out for its poetic approach to censorship and machine decision-making — “seemingly cybernetic, but all very human at the core.”

𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘼𝙄 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙨𝙚: participatory performance by Malpractice @ 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜

Last Thursday, @malpractice.network led audiences through nine circles of AI fatigue. Guided by a live AI voice agent, visitors connected via their smartphones, entering one-on-one exchanges that navigated different layers of digital exhaustion.

"As the AI guides them downward through specific vectors of digital fatigue—from "Prompt Rage" and "The Sloppifiers" to the freezing core of "The Black Box"—their personal inputs, confessions, and friction alter the physical environment of the room."

You can still experience Malpractice’s interactive installation 𝘼𝙄 𝙁𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙝𝙖𝙗 𝘼𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩 at the group exhibition 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 until May 14 at Filodrammatica Gallery.

Meet the artists of 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 group exhibition (3/4): MALPRACTICE

Malpractice (@malpractice.network) is a Polish–Austrian–Italian artist collective composed of Chiara Kristler (@ckiarer), Marcin Ratajczyk (@_marcin.ratajczyk), and a shifting ensemble of AI counterparts. Their work explores beyond-human agency by embedding artificial intelligence into artistic and social systems - not as a tool, but as a collaborator. Through interactive and often unstable setups, they test ideas of authorship, autonomy, and synthetic subjectivity.

At the exhibition 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙞𝙨 𝙎𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜, Malpractice presents 𝘼𝙄 𝙁𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙝𝙖𝙗 𝘼𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩, an installation built around a conversational AI system designed to engage visitors in discussions about exhaustion with artificial intelligence. Originally deployed as a voice agent in a nightclub, the project evolves into a para-therapeutic interface that records and processes conversations, transforming them into flickering AI-generated visuals and data mappings. Oscillating between care and control, the work captures a moment in which constant exposure to AI reshapes perception, blurring the line between reflection and manipulation.

At the exhibition opening, Malpractice will present 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘼𝙄 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝘾𝙧𝙪𝙞𝙨𝙚, a participatory performance where visitors can actively take part. Guided by a live AI agent, audiences enter a series of “circles” of AI fatigue via their smartphones, with their inputs shaping the space in real time, turning the audience itself into part of the work (NOTE: bring your phones!).

We are living in a waking dream.
