Well, here we are again… another school year. 🥹 And somehow, every year that passes seems to fly by even quicker than the last.

I officially have a HIGH SCHOOLER 😭, two in middle school now, and my “baby” in elementary. And I’m still trying to figure out how we got here so fast.

If there’s anything I could tell the mamas just entering the middle school years, it’s this: they grow SO fast here. I swear the rate of change during these years feels almost as drastic as the infant years.

One minute they’re still little kids, and the next their faces are changing, they’ve grown inches, their interests are changing, their friendships are changing… they’re becoming more independent and needing you in completely different ways.

You don’t notice it happening day by day, but then you look back at the first-day-of-school picture from just one year ago and wonder how that little kid turned into this big kid so quickly. 🥹

These years are such a strange mix of holding on and letting go. Giving them more independence while still wanting to keep them little. Watching them figure out who they are while remembering every version of them that came before.

So take the pictures & show up for all the things you can.

Because everyone tells you the baby years go fast… but I’m here to tell you, the big kid years might go even faster. 🤍

Here’s to another school year and another year of watching these four become exactly who they’re meant to be. 🥹

Hi, I’m Brit. 👋🏼

I’m 41, from Southern California, married to my high school sweetheart, and together we’re raising our four kids in that sweet in-between season… past the baby years, but still very much needed every single day.

I’ve been sharing little pieces of my life on the internet since the MySpace days. I’ve always loved making the ordinary feel a little more special.

Long before Instagram, I was filling scrapbook after scrapbook with photos, little memories, and all the moments I never wanted to forget. I loved celebrating birthdays, decorating for every holiday, creating family traditions, and paying attention to the little details that make a season of life feel unforgettable. When social media came along, it naturally became my digital scrapbook… a place to document those moments and hopefully inspire someone else to celebrate the everyday, too.

Over the years, that little hobby opened doors I never expected. I’ve had the opportunity to work with brands I genuinely love, learn the art of creating content, and, even more importantly, build friendships and community with people I never would’ve met otherwise.

If you stick around, you’ll find a little bit of everything here…motherhood, faith, family adventures, hair care, favorite style finds, and more often than not, you’ll find me cheering from the sidelines, the stands, or somewhere in the crowd at one of my kids’ games.

My hope is that every time you stop by, you leave with something… whether that’s encouragement, a helpful tip, a new favorite find, or simply the inspiration to make the ordinary feel a little more special.

Our annual Hocus Pocus movie night! 🎃🍿🧡 Skeleton jammies, all the yummy fall treats, and one of those little traditions my kids look forward to every year.

And because I know Halloween can be a sensitive subject in the Christian community… (believe me I see it every year) I wanted to share my heart on something.

I love Jesus. I’m raising my kids to love Jesus. And I also love making sweet memories with them, whether that’s carving pumpkins, dressing up, trick-or-treating, or watching a silly Disney movie about witches flying on broomsticks. 😂

I absolutely believe Scripture is clear about witchcraft and occult practices. Those aren’t things we participate in or invite into our home. But I also believe there’s a difference between practicing something and watching a fictional movie, or between celebrating darkness and enjoying a fun family tradition.

For our family, Halloween has never been about anything spiritual. It’s about pumpkins, costumes, fall treats, and making memories together. Our kids know the difference between fantasy and reality, and more importantly, they know who we belong to.

I know some Christian families feel convicted to avoid Halloween altogether, and I genuinely respect that. I think that’s where Romans 14 is such a beautiful reminder that we can have different personal convictions while sharing the same love for Jesus.

God knows our hearts. And I believe we can extend a little more grace to one another in the areas where our convictions may look different.

Around here, we’re going to keep loving Jesus, teaching our kids His Word, and enjoying our little family traditions along the way. 🎃

First high school homecoming! 🥹🤎

There’s something so special about watching your kids grow up with friends who have been part of their lives for years. Some of these boys have been together since preschool, and now here they are heading off to their first high school dance. HOW?! 🥹

I just love this group of boys and their mamas so much. They really are such a good group of kids. They love their sports, work hard in school, love the Lord and their families, and just genuinely love being together. I’m so proud of the young men they’re becoming.

And as a mom, I don’t take for granted the friendships my kids have or the families we get to do life alongside. So many years of memories already, and I’m just so thankful they have each other through these high school years.

No dates this year, just a big group of friends, some pictures with their favorite sports props (obviously 😆 ), dinner, and their first HOCO dance!

And the fact that they still willingly take pictures with all their moms?! We’ll take it! Haha. Pretty sure we need to recreate this picture every year, so consider this your official warning to any future dates. 🤔😂😉

Here’s to four years of making memories, growing up, and hopefully keeping these friendships long after high school. So grateful for these boys and the people helping raise them into the men God created them to be. 🤎

And the last picture really is a full-circle moment. Almost 25 years ago, Scott and I were at a high school dance in that very same gym with some of our best friends. Last night, our boys were at that same gym, while the four of us went out to dinner together. I love how many special friendships come out of our school.

I guess high school is officially the cutoff for our yearly skeleton photo 🥹💀 So we’re back down to three again…

Watching some of the little-kid traditions slowly come to an end is actually so sad. 😭 There are just too many “lasts.”

But then there are so many new “firsts” too… and I truly do love every stage for different reasons. 🤍

God knew exactly what He was doing when He gave me Dawson seven years after Karson. He knew this mama was going to need a little extra time with the “little kid” years to help me cope.🥹😅😆
