6 months later, she’s here!!! And the glamour shots are in!! My #nestjacket is done *silent scream* just in time for fall in NY and…. #Rhinebeck!!! A series of very fortunate events is allowing me to make the very last min, poorly prepped trip to #nysheepandwool this year so finishing this in time was a huge motivator. 🍁🍂🐑

I LOVED knitting this piece, and would have finished and been joyfully wearing this since the spring had I not decided to get cute with it and make mods that absolutely plagued me these last 4 months (but so so worth it in the end). I knew I wanted this to have a zipper and had envisioned it with a bomber style tapered collar. I must have ripped both out 4-5 times with month long breaks in between for my mental health. This yarn has been through it and I learned ALOT!

CF Zipper: TLDR I sandwiched the zipper by picking up stitches on both sides of the CF edge, stockinette and bound off both facings purlwise and hand sewed the zipper in.

Collar: German short rows to make a crescent shape that tapered to CF and tall enough to make it a folded collar with knitted bind off

This whole sweater took a whopping total of 9 skeins of worsted weight yarn!! Bless the dye lots for matching

Happy #wipwednesday! Reporting live from a nice heat wave in the Bay Area ☀️ My #wolfcardigan (PHM fox version) by @marymaximofficial is off the needles! 🦊🦊🦊

Next up is weaving all these bajillion ends and sewing all the pieces together. Wish me luck!! Follow along to see the finished results!

Some notes that might help you if you are considering knitting this!
- I tried multiple bobbin methods for yarn management and ultimately the butterfly method worked best for me (or no bobbin at all, just letting the yarn strands dangle and splicing as you go)
- For intarsia, when switching colors, always hold the old color strand to the left and bring the new color over from the right- same goes on the purl side- old left, new right
- I did do a combo of stranded colorwork + intarsia to minimize ends; I think this makes the interior look a little crazy but I don’t mind if it means fewer ends to weave in
- I knit all the ribbing first and put them on stitch holders, that way whenever I was ready to move on to the next piece, I could launch straight into the stockinette/ colorwork. I felt this really moved things along for me
- In general, this went way faster than I expected because of the bulky yarn!
- I ended up much preferring purling when working intarsia bc I can see all my yarn and bobbins!

Size 3S (I knit the Short version off gauge and essentially met the Long length, which I was happy about!)

Say hello to my 2nd pair of socks ever and some of the most awkward #finishedobject photos I’ve ever had to take! This pair was knit mostly on the go this summer, really the perfect travel project and first time I used my @addi_by_selter #flexiflips, which I really liked! Super happy with how they came out and want to experiment with different types of heel constructions in the future (just got the Fish lips kiss heel by @soxtherapist to try next!) 🧦🧦🧦
