MOUNT LANGLEY — 14,032 FT 🏔️

This one has been waiting for me for a long time.

Ever since I stood on top of Mt. Whitney in 2022, Mount Langley has been high on my list. For years I kept looking toward this mountain, knowing that someday I would make my way up there.

This weekend, that day finally came.

We started at midnight, walking through darkness and bone deep cold toward a summit we wouldn’t reach until around 8 AM. The beginning was mellow, but the cold hit harder than I expected. Every time we stopped moving, I could feel it. Shivering, tired, running on very little sleep… but still moving.

Then came the final push.

Following the cairns toward 14,000 feet, every step became work. Your breathing gets heavier, your heart pounds in your chest… but you keep going.

And that’s exactly what we did.

We pushed together, motivated each other, little by little, step by step.

And we made it. 🏔️

Standing on top of Mount Langley and seeing Mt. Whitney in the distance brought everything full circle.

Four years ago, I stood on that mountain looking toward more adventures.

Now I was standing here, looking back at it.

I’m proud of this one. Not just because I crossed another 14er off the list, but because of everything it took to become the person capable of standing there.

I’ve worked hard this year. I’ve pushed through long miles, sleepless nights, difficult climbs, setbacks, and moments where I had to find out just how much I had left in me…

And somehow, I keep finding more.

Cold. Exhausted. Out of breath.

But incredibly grateful to be alive.

We keep going. ⛰️

11:00 PM start. No rush, no pressure, just the mountains, good company, and the kind of night that reminds you why you keep coming back.

David and I took our time under the fading full moon, watching its light spill across the ridgelines as if the mountains were glowing in silence. No need to push, no need to race. Just steady steps through the dark, one quick stop, and hours of conversation between footsteps.

Etiwanda Peak felt like pure magic. A quick snack later, we pushed toward Cucamonga Peak to celebrate a hiking group’s 4 year anniversary, catch up with familiar faces, and soak in a sunrise that made the long night worth every mile.

We ran sections of the descent, laughed the whole way down, and made it back to the car tired, grateful, and safe.

13.8 miles. 4,728 ft of gain.
But nights like this are always about more than the numbers.

What an amazing night in the mountains. 🌙⛰️

What the night carried away,
the mountains returned as peace. ✨

3 T’s — Timber, Telegraph & Thunder Peak. ⛰️🌌

Some hikes are just miles and elevation. Others become a story.

This weekend, David and I finally decided it was time to take on the 3 T’s Challenge — Timber Mountain, Telegraph Peak, and Thunder Mountain — starting from Icehouse Canyon, climbing through Icehouse Saddle, reaching the Mount Baldy Notch, and finishing down Baldy Road.

We staged a car at the San Antonio Falls Trailhead first, then carpooled back to Icehouse Canyon and started hiking around 1:00 AM.

Our goal was simple: reach the hardest climb to Telegraph Peak by sunrise, before the extreme heatwave could turn the mountain into something even more unforgiving.

We climbed peak by peak.

And honestly… we were exhausted. Sleepy, tired, and questioning our life choices as we made our way toward the first summit. 😂

At one point, I wanted nothing more than to close my eyes.

Then we looked up.

The sky came alive.

Shooting star after shooting star crossed the darkness above us. There were SO many. It was beautiful. For a moment, the exhaustion disappeared. We just stood there watching the universe put on a show for us.

A little water. A little rest. Then we kept moving.

The trail was absolutely beautiful. This was completely new territory for both of us, and every turn brought something different. I found myself falling in love with the landscape, the solitude, and honestly… even the suffering. 😂

I felt strong throughout the hike. Not rushed. Not trying to prove anything. Just finding that peaceful rhythm where you can keep walking, keep breathing, and keep moving forward.

Then came Telegraph Peak.

That final stretch was BRUTAL.

The incline just kept going… and going… and GOING. 😮‍💨

But reaching the top made every single step worth it.

And just like that — peak by peak — we conquered all three.

From there, the challenge changed completely. The majority of the remaining miles were downhill, so we just kept moving — tired legs, big smiles, and that feeling you get when you know you just did something that pushed you.

And somewhere along that descent, it hit me:

I actually did it.

I grew up watching Saint Seiya.

And if there was one thing about Seiya that stayed with me, it was that he always got back up.

It didn’t matter how difficult the fight became.
How much pain he was in.
How impossible the odds seemed.
Or how much stronger the adversary standing in front of him was.

He got back up.

“Levántate. Sigue. No te puedes rendir.”

“Tienes que ganar este combate. No tienes derecho a perder.”

As a kid, I thought those words were about winning a fight.

Years later, climbing Mt. Agassiz, I think I finally understood them differently.

This was my first real scramble. There were moments when I looked above me at what was still left to climb and questioned whether I had it in me.

I was exhausted. I was afraid. I had pushed beyond limits I didn’t even know I had.

And I wasn’t alone.

Everyone on that mountain was fighting their own battle against exhaustion, fear, doubt, pain, or that little voice telling us this is as far as you can go.

But we kept climbing.

One more step.
One more rock.
One more push.

Because sometimes winning the fight doesn’t mean being the strongest.

Sometimes it simply means refusing to stay down.

And your mountain doesn’t have to look like mine.

Life will eventually put something in front of all of us that feels bigger than we are. Something that hurts. Something that scares us. Something that makes us question whether we have anything left.

When that moment comes…

Get back up.

And if life knocks you down again?

Get back up again.

Keep fighting.
Keep moving.
Keep climbing.

Maybe that’s why, after all these years, Seiya still means something to me.

The kid who watched him get back up over and over again finally got to understand what those words meant.

No te puedes rendir. 🔥

There are moments when you realize the only way forward is to stop fighting the fear… and let it happen.

Mt. Agassiz was that moment for me.

This was my first real experience scrambling, and somewhere among the endless talus, steep climbs, and moments that pushed me far beyond what I thought my limits were, I discovered something about myself.

I was scared. I was exhausted. There were moments I questioned whether I could actually do this.

But I kept moving.

Not because the fear disappeared, but because I learned I could move with it.

Standing at 13,893 ft, looking across the Sierra from the summit, I felt proud… but mostly in disbelief. I still don’t think I can fully explain how much it took out of me to get there.

Forever grateful to @__kapiva__ for bringing us together and creating an adventure I didn’t know how much I needed. Some people invite you on a hike… and somehow, you come back a little different. 🤍

Maybe growth isn’t always about feeling ready.

Sometimes you step into something bigger than yourself, trust the people beside you, trust the person you’re becoming…

and let it happen. 🏔️✨

I’m still trying to process this one. 🏔️

This was my first time ever scrambling, and I don’t think I was prepared for just how far beyond my limits this mountain would take me.

There were moments when my threshold wasn’t just pushed it was completely surpassed. Moments when I looked at what was in front of me and genuinely wondered how I was going to do it.

But somehow… I did.

I climbed higher. I kept moving. I trusted myself when I wasn’t entirely sure I could.

Standing at the top of Mount Agassiz, looking 360° across the Sierra Nevada, I felt proud, overwhelmed, and honestly a little in disbelief.

I did that.

It’s difficult to put into words how much this took from me physically and mentally or how much it gave back.

Sometimes you don’t realize how much you’ve grown until life puts something in front of you that the old version of yourself would have never believed possible.

Forever grateful to @__kapiva__ ❤️
You brought all of us together for this adventure, but I don’t think you realize just how much it meant to me. Every climb, every laugh, every conversation, and every little moment we shared is something I’ll carry with me.

I’ll forever be in your debt for this one.

I needed this. 🏔️✨

🎶 Pegasus Fantasy starts playing… 🎶

No thoughts.
No hesitation.
Just COSMO… BURN! 🔥⚡️

One second I’m peacefully watching the sunrise…
the next, I’m sprinting down the ridge like the fate of the Sanctuary depends on it. 😂

Then reality kicked back in:

“Relax… that’s just my wake-up alarm.” 😂

Somewhere between the sunrise and the Sanctuary…
Seiya took over. 🐎✨

High Sierra Trail – Hamilton Lakes to Crescent Meadow

Every adventure eventually asks us to turn around.

Sixteen miles stood between us and home, but with every step came another chance to soak in the beauty we’d been fortunate enough to experience.

It’s never easy saying goodbye to places that make you feel alive, or to the people who shared the journey beside you.

I leave these mountains with a full heart, grateful for every mile, every sunrise, every conversation, and for the quiet reminder that some moments are too beautiful to last forever.

Until we meet again.

Forever grateful. 🤍⛰️

High Sierra Trail – Bearpaw Meadow to Hamilton Lakes

We started the morning one step at a time, climbing toward a view we couldn’t yet see.

Then the valley opened.

In that moment, every aching leg, every drop of sweat, and every mile behind us suddenly made sense.

The mountains have a beautiful way of reminding us that the hardest climbs often lead to the quietest moments.

High Sierra Trail – Crescent Meadow to Hamilton Lakes

Some trails become memories the moment you leave them.

Others stay with you because of who you were when you walked them.

I’d already crossed every mile of the High Sierra Trail twice before. This time, I returned not to finish it, but simply to revisit the place that first made me fall in love with these mountains.

There was something comforting about walking familiar ground again. The towering sequoias, the rushing river, and the long climbs all felt exactly as I remembered them.

It’s strange how a trail can remain unchanged while quietly revealing how much you’ve changed.

Sometimes the greatest journeys aren’t about discovering a new place.

They’re about returning to an old one and seeing it and yourself with different eyes.

ECBO Challenge Complete 🏔️

Etiwanda. Cucamonga. Big Horn. Ontario.

18.68 miles.
6,186 ft climbed.
14 hours on the mountain.
4 summits.

This challenge was part of volunteering for the #FoolsTraverse event put together by @trvrsoutdoors , helping collect summit markers along the route while pushing ourselves through one of the toughest days on trail.

I won’t lie, the first two miles were brutal. I felt sluggish and honestly didn’t know if I was going to make it past Icehouse Saddle.

After stopping to filter water and take a breather, something changed. Whatever that was, it felt like my body reset. From there on, I felt strong, confident, and honestly impressed with how well I handled every climb.

I pushed myself out there… but the funny thing is, I didn’t want to stop climbing.

To make things more interesting, this was also the first hike where I forgot my headlamp and my ditty bag with my med kit and emergency supplies 😅 Definitely not the start I had planned.

But mile by mile, summit by summit, we got it done.

I’m beyond proud of every mile earned out there. Brutal challenge, but a fun one and absolutely something I’d do again someday.

Huge thank you to my friend David for sticking through it with me while we pushed our limits and collected summit markers together. We’re both out here leveling up and getting ready for the next big challenge. ⛰️
