I am so excited to share my next project. The Conversation is a new musical written and performed by two of the most gifted artists working today — @joshuahenryofficial and @lia_man .
Joshua and Julia first met on the road launching the national tour of Hamilton (Joshua as Burr, Julia as Eliza!) and discovered a shared passion for songwriting and for R&B, soul, and pop music. Those late-night writing sessions became this gorgeous new show.
You may know Joshua from his stunning performance in Ragtime — he just took home the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical, and every bit of it was deserved. And Julia — fresh from Lin-Manuel Miranda and Eisa Davis’s concept album Warriors — is about to take the New York stage by storm.
The Conversation is about the thing we are all craving: real connection. What it takes to open your heart to another person. What it takes to choose love, even when it hurts — and what it takes to stay.
@ngreen4321 joins as book writer, and the incomparable @iamkennyleon directs. My brilliant producing partner @jennysteingart and I cannot wait to share this with you.

Today we said goodbye to our beautiful, sweet Benji. Fiercely independent and at the same time, deeply lovable and loving. He had the cutest little prance when he went out for a walk like he was just so happy to be out and about soaking up life. When he lost that pep in his step this week, we knew it was his time.

He brought us endless love, joy, fun and happiness. We loved him so deeply.

Sharing some special memories.

1. This was the day we brought Benji home, August 2, 2015. We adopted him from @animal_lighthouse after Kiera found his listing on line. He was 2 years old when we got him.

2. Kiera was at camp when he came home and so we brought him up to pick up as a surprise. This was the day that Kiera and Benji met for the first time.

Benji and Miranda had a special bond and he was always a willing participant in her games and dress up.

For a city dog, Benji loved being outdoors. He loved going on hikes and feeling the breeze in his face. And he loved his dog friends, Charlie, Rocky, Buddy and Mason.

He loved to play and loved his toys. If he liked you, he would bring out one of his toys to play with you and back in the days when you would “come home “from work” he would always greet us with a toy, especially for Jason.

He loved to cuddle and we had a fun game where he either wouldn’t let me make the bed or I’d have to make it with him in it. And he loved his own dog bed the most.

Saying goodbye to him today was so hard. We will always love you sweetest Benj. 💔🙏❤️🐾 by @mandy.hackett

@the_real_benji_hackett crossed the 🌈 bridge earlier this afternoon. Truly the best of dogs, he brought so much joy to all who knew him-except toys which he destroyed with the savagery of a hungry wolf.
Style icon, Village flaneur, @nyknicks fan and best of friends. He will be missed but never forgotten. taken in Union Square by @mandy.hackett
