Of very small scale, a castle is cut directly into cardboard. The allegorical scope of the work
becomes fully apparent when one notices that the cardboard is in fact a box of
antidepressants.The second work is an oil painting. Based on a photograph of a souvenir
shop façade mimicking the legendary Hollywood sign, the artist presents a generic word with
which the viewer intuitively associates a personal experience, without any stable referent.

Deliberately childlike, falsely innocent, these drawings convey a certain urgency toward
fragile balance. The text they contain takes the form of remarks, commentary, or aphorisms.
Supported by a raw and intuitive handwriting, they belong to a body of work where the trivial
meets the metaphysical, the profane the sacred.

Anastasia Bay peint, à l’acrylique.
Elle travaille avec de grands pots munis d’embouts verseurs. À force d’usage, la peinture s’y accumule, s’écoule, puis se fige autour de l’embout. Avec le temps, ces coulures se solidifient, dessinant des formes uniques, façonnées par le geste et la répétition.
Anastasia les prélève et les conserve. Toutes différentes, marquées par l’empreinte circulaire de l’embout, elles portent la trace directe du processus de création. De cette matière née du travail quotidien surgit l’idée d’une transformation : y faire passer une chaîne, pour que la forme devienne objet à porter.
À la fois abstraction et fragment d’atelier, cette édition se décline en deux finitions — argent et argent plaqué or — et s’inscrit dans une collaboration exclusive avec MANIFESTE STUDIO.

Anastasia Bay paints in acrylic.
She works with large paint containers fitted with pouring spouts. With repeated use, coloured paint accumulates, drips, and gradually solidifies around the nozzle. Over time, these hardened drips form unique shapes, sculpted by gesture and repetition.
Anastasia carefully removes and preserves them. Each one is unique, marked by the circular imprint of the spout, bearing the direct trace of the creative process. From this material born out of daily studio practice, emerges the idea of transformation: passing a chain through the form and turning it into something wearable.
Both abstraction and fragment of the studio, this edition is available in two finishes — sterling silver and gold-plated silver — and is presented as an exclusive collaboration with MANIFESTE STUDIO.
