Who are the eight classes that graduated on Saturday and celebrated this achievement with their families and friends? Here they are, all graduates of 2026: proud, happy, throwing their caps, and jumping for joy.

They come from the Mannheim Full-Time MBA, the Mannheim Part-Time MBA, the Mannheim Master in Sustainability & Impact Management, the Mannheim Master in Management Analytics & AI, the Mannheim Master of Taxation, the Mannheim Master of Accounting, the Mannheim Executive MBA, and the ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA, Europe and Asia-Pacific Track.

Over the past 12 to 24 months, they put hours of readings, classes, projects, and commutes to Mannheim and home into their studies. They balanced family, job, and friendships alongside their degree. They expanded their mindset, broadened their perspective on business, and grew personally and professionally.

Congratulations again. We look forward to seeing you soon at one of our upcoming chapter or Holiday Bash events.

Two weeks ago, we welcomed representatives from Ferrari Central Europe to Mannheim Business School for an afternoon that brought academia and business together – quite literally.

As part of a Marketing lecture led by Prof. Dr. Florian Kraus, Master's students and Full-Time MBA students had the opportunity to gain firsthand insights into one of the world's most iconic brands.

Following an introduction to Ferrari by Dennis de Munck, our guests shared insights into Ferrari as a company, its position in the German market, and the work behind its launches and events. Thank you to Lisa Weis, Lisa Meurer, Florian Pieroth and Carla Felicia Gritz for sharing your perspectives and experiences.

A particular highlight was the open Q&A, giving our students the opportunity to ask questions directly and see how marketing concepts translate into practice at a globally renowned brand.

A big thank you to our guests from Ferrari, Prof. Dr. Florian Kraus, and everyone involved in making this event possible!

Two days, one fictional listed company and a seat at the supervisory board table.

Earlier this month, the Directors' Forum took place in cooperation with Spencer Stuart. In a realistic simulation with a fictional industrial company, a small group of handpicked participants took turns in the roles of supervisory board members and experienced the work of a board from the inside. Boardroom simulations and committee meetings gave them hands-on experience in strategic decision-making and governance. Seasoned supervisory and executive board members took part in the individual sessions.

Prof. Dr. Rüdiger Grube, former CEO of Deutsche Bahn, guided the group as acting chairman.

The Directors' Forum is designed for newly appointed supervisory board members and executives who plan to take on a mandate.

The two-day format equips participants with procedural know-how and strategic assertiveness. It has been held at Mannheim Business School since 2016.

Interested in joining a future edition? Next year’s date is already planned: October 6-7, 2027.

Every year at our festive Graduation ceremony, we honor a member of our faculty for excellence in teaching with the MBS Teaching Award. On Saturday, the award went to Professor Keith Goffin, a highly esteemed member of our adjunct faculty.

As a thought leader, Prof. Goffin focuses on identifying corporate growth opportunities and customers' hidden needs, managing new product development, and removing barriers to innovation to build an innovation culture.

For many years, our Executive MBA classes enjoyed his exceptional teaching in Innovation Management. Prof. Goffin’s approach was always hands-on: Lively discussion and creating filled the classroom. Our participants consistently evaluated his courses with top marks.

“We were impressed with both the depth of your knowledge and your genuine passion for innovation,” said MBS President Joachim Lutz in his speech. “Thank you from all Mannheimers whose mindset you have enriched over the years. Thank you for your knowledge, enthusiasm, and creativity!”

Professor Goffin, who is concluding his teaching at MBS, dedicated the award to all our Executive MBA participants he worked with.

Liability, governance codes, risk systems, sustainability reporting, high-risk AI: supervisory boards are faced with a growing number of fields they need to watch.

Recently, Mannheim Business School held the first edition of its new certificate program "Kontrollfunktion des Aufsichtsrats" (Monitoring Function of the Supervisory Board) at the MBS Study & Conference Center in Mannheim Palace led by academic director Prof. Dr. Alexandra Niessen-Ruenzi.

The program provided a theoretical foundation for the Spencer Stuart Directors' Forum, which took place the following two days, and its first edition was a great success.

Speakers covered the legal framework and liability (Dr. Jan Dörrwächter, Mercer), the German Corporate Governance Code (Prof. Dr. Alexandra Niessen-Ruenzi, University of Mannheim), the oversight of governance systems and crisis management (Dr. Katrin Rausch, EY Deutschland), sustainability reporting as part of the oversight function (Adam Pradela, DHL Group) and the supervisory board's responsibility when operating high-risk AI systems (Prof. Dr. Elena Dubovitskaya, University of Giessen).

The day concluded with MBS President Joachim Lutz’s reflections on the main takeaways. A highlight of the closing dinner was the keynote by Dr. Werner Brandt, former CFO of SAP, who shared his perspectives on the supervisory board as a strategic sparring partner of the executive board.

We are already looking forward to next year’s edition!

What a day! On Saturday, the Rosengarten Mannheim was filled with joy, pride, and applause: eight classes officially received their academic degrees at our central MBS Graduation Ceremony 2026. More than 1,000 people celebrated together - our graduates, their families and friends, MBS faculty and staff, and guests of honor.

MBS President Joachim Lutz sent the graduates on their way with the words: "We Mannheimers are an incredibly strong community. Now it is your turn to write the next chapter of your success story."

Keynote speaker Luka Mucic, CEO of Vonovia SE and Executive MBA alumnus Class of 2007, encouraged the graduates to plan not for future roles and titles, but for their own personal development: to stay open-minded and curious, embrace change, and take responsibility in society.

A big thank you to everyone involved, especially to Luka Mucic and our three graduating student speakers: Nadja Krummrein for the specialized Master programs, Joel Bacharie for the MBA programs, and Dr. Lenka Kyjacova for the Executive MBA programs. Thank you as well to the N’n R Delta Quartet for the atmospheric musical accompaniment of the event.

Congratulations to all graduates of 2026 on reaching this milestone! We thank your families and friends for their unwavering support, all professors and guest speakers for their insights and contributions, and our whole staff for making everything run smoothly behind the scenes.

More pictures coming soon - stay tuned!

Another proud moment for Mannheim Business School: The 2026 Financial Times Executive MBA Ranking, published today, once again places both of our Executive MBA programs among the world’s best.

The ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA secures a place among the world’s top 25 (#21) for the fourth consecutive year, while the Mannheim Executive MBA comes in at #54.

Together, these results reinforce Mannheim Business School’s position as Germany’s leading provider of Executive MBA programs and highlight the strength of our offering on the international stage.

One result stands out in particular: both programs rank first in Germany for “Aims achieved,” a category that measures the extent to which alumni have achieved the goals that motivated them to pursue an Executive MBA.

The ESSEC & MANNHEIM Executive MBA also excels in a range of additional categories, placing among the world’s top 20 in “International course experience” (#5), “Work experience of participants” (#10), “ESG and net zero teaching” (#12), and “International students” (#13).

This achievement would not have been possible without two essential factors: the exceptional commitment and career success of the alumni of both programs, and the strength of the Network of Mannheimers - our alumni, participants, faculty, corporate partners, and staff.

Our heartfelt thanks and congratulations go to everyone who contributed to this success! by @mannheimbschool

This week, our Mannheim Full-Time MBA Class of 2027 swapped the classroom for the 14th floor of Frankfurt’s Messeturm for an inspiring AI Learning Day at @microsoftdeutschland.

The program took them from a tour of Microsoft’s modern workplace to discussions about hybrid collaboration, the changing world of work and career opportunities at Microsoft. They also gained valuable insights into Microsoft’s AI strategy, current developments and the role of Copilot.

A particular highlight was the AI panel with Diana Dreher and Prof. Dr. Jens Förderer. Their conversation about leadership in the AI era, changing career requirements and the skills professionals will need in the future led to a lively exchange with our participants.

It was wonderful to see our Full-Time MBA cohort joined by current participants and alumni, bringing together different experiences and perspectives.

A big thank you to Sumit Kale, Jo Klein, Hasan Yilmaz, Diana Dreher, Lena Wölfle, Kenny Smiles Lartey, Kathrin Schaaf, Prof. Dr. Jens Förderer and Dr. Nina Landauer for sharing your insights, answering the many questions and making the day so engaging. Thank you also to the entire Microsoft team for the warm welcome and excellent organization.

The group returned to Mannheim with plenty of new ideas – and probably even more questions about what AI will make possible next.

What separates companies that shape the future from those who fall behind?

Digital innovation, AI, and sustainability are rewriting the rules of competition and the leaders who understand how to turn these forces into real business value are the ones pulling ahead.

In this compact and practical 60-minute masterclass, Prof. Dr. Armin Heinzl takes you behind the scenes of global success stories and shows the transformation playbooks that actually work.

Using examples from Siemens, JPMorgan Chase, and Spotify, he shows how companies approach transformation in very different settings: scaling digital across a global industrial group, competing with Big Tech in banking, and personalizing services with AI.

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management MBA program for their Global Immersion in Germany 2026 program!

The week started off with interactive academic sessions on the current German economic and political situation, German-Chinese economic relations, German financial behavior and the German Mittelstand all led by Alexander Pfisterer and featuring a guest speaker session with Tobias Mörk (Reer GmbH). On Wednesday, the group visited BASF in Ludwigshafen for a tour followed by a presentation on AI and automation by Dr. Hisham Mubarak. To celebrate the middle point of the program, the afternoon was spent exploring the beautiful cobble stone alleys of old-town Heidelberg.

On Thursday morning, the group returned to the classroom, where Fabian Hänle introduced them to some motives, strategies and success factors for the internationalization of Chinese SMEs, before heading off to another company visit at FUCHS Group in the afternoon. Finally, on Friday, the group delved into current topics and trends of impact investing with Jiri Tresl before delivering their final presentations, which highlighted their learnings obtained throughout the week.

We sincerely thank our guests from China for choosing Mannheim once again and hope that the memories and insights gained from the program will further enrich your educational and professional journey!

The Mannheim Part-Time MBA Class of 2028 continued their kick-off week with an Outdoor Leadership Training in France.

Instructed by the experts of SCYFCO, the participants crossed a lake on a raft, built and crossed a suspension bridge and worked through a simulated crisis scenario.

Each task called for clear communication, shared decisions and trust within the group. For our class of 58 professionals from different industries, it was a first chance to find out how they work together.

Well done, Mannheim Part-Time MBA Class of 2028!
