Join us as we reflect on our journey with Founder A.T. Mitchell. He shares his personal story, the founding of Man Up Inc., and the progress we've made in making neighborhoods safer.

Our mission is fueled by our commitment to violence prevention, youth empowerment, and community building. We couldn't have reached this milestone without your continued support.

Together, we're creating a brighter future for our neighborhoods. 💪✨

Before there was a movement, there was a child. His name was Daesean Hill. 💛

His life mattered. His future mattered. And his story is part of why MAN UP! began.

After Daesean’s death, grief brought members of the community together with a shared purpose: confront violence, protect our children, and build something that could help change the future.

That purpose lives on every time someone steps in to prevent violence, shows up for a young person, or helps a family find support.

Every child deserves to grow up. To dream. To make it home.

Swipe through to learn the story behind the mission—and why the work must continue.

Remember Daesean. Stand with our youth. Help build safer communities. 🕊️

Behind the mission are people who show up for their community every day. 💛🖤

In Part 1 of MAN UP Staff Stories, meet the voices behind the work—from interrupting violence and connecting neighbors to resources to mentoring young people and creating spaces where they feel safe and supported.

Their stories remind us that this work is personal. It starts with connection, grows through trust, and takes all of us sticking together.

Watch, listen, and meet the people behind the mission. ✊🏾

Don’t just take our word for it—listen to our young people. 💙

At Man Up! Inc., we are serious about investing in the next generation. We know real change starts with our youth because they are not only our future—they are powerful right now.

That’s why we pour into them, teach them, expose them to new opportunities, and help prepare them to become confident, responsible, and successful leaders.

Hear directly from our young people about what they’ve learned and how Man Up! has impacted their lives.

We’re not just building programs—we’re building futures. 💪🏾

We didn’t just run—we took a stand! 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️💚

Man Up! Inc. was proud to join New York City’s first 5K Against Gun Violence, bringing survivors, advocates, families, and community leaders together for one powerful message: every life deserves to be protected, and every neighborhood deserves peace. @stridesforpeace

Every step represented a life, a family, and our commitment to creating safer communities across New York City. The movement doesn’t stop at the finish line—we’re just getting started!

Drop a 💚 if you stand with us against gun violence.

The backpacks are packed, the school doors are opening, and another summer is officially in the books! 🎒📚💙

As our young people head back to school, we’re looking back at a summer filled with growth, creativity, friendship, and JOY at Man Up! Inc. Summer Camp.

Our youth had a safe space to learn, create, have fun, build relationships, and simply enjoy being young.

Summer may be ending, but our commitment to our young people continues all year long. Here’s to a safe, successful, and amazing school year ahead! 💪🏾

Stay connected for upcoming Man Up! Inc. youth programs and opportunities.

I’m still on a high from Peaceful Summer Fest ’26—and everywhere I go, people are still talking about the love, energy and unity we experienced together in East New York. 💙

As the founder of Man Up! Inc., there is nothing more powerful than seeing our young people, families, community partners and neighbors come together in peace. These highlights capture some beautiful moments, but they can never fully capture what we felt that day.

I want to personally thank every sponsor, partner, performer, volunteer, vendor, staff member, parent and community resident who poured into this event. Most importantly, thank you to our young people. Everything we do is about helping you feel seen, supported, protected and inspired.

Peaceful Summer Fest may be over, but the love and momentum are still with us—and the work continues.

Enjoy these highlights, and drop a 💙 in the comments if you were there with us!

With gratitude,
A.T. Mitchell-Mann
Founder & CEO, Man Up! Inc.
