A revolutionary ai platform automating supply chain transparency and management for greater global resource resilience and access๐ŸŒ
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
๐Ÿ”ฅ The biggest barrier to supply-chain transparency isnโ€™t data.
 ๐‘ฐ๐’•โ€™๐’” ๐’•๐’“๐’–๐’”๐’•.

After 6 years building Map Collective, we kept seeing the same pattern:

Companies chase suppliers for dataโ€ฆ
Suppliers hesitate to share itโ€ฆ
And 80โ€“90% of emissions stay invisible.

We had a blast on episode 39 of the scope 3 podcast. Check it out in the link in our bio.

While most people are still arguing about whether we can ever get good scope 3 data...

Tara Gupta and Issac Hicks are over here building ai agents, reinventing how visibility and interoperability work together.

Think of this as a glimpse of where the market could be headed...

Map Collective is pushing for a world where reporting is something we barely think about.. and where insights are what drive action.โ€

Thanks Tom Idle and Oliver Hurrey for the opportunity to discuss the launch of our new system, G.R.I.D. (Global Resource Intelligence Database), the first ever free, agentic ai traceability system for making supplier survey fatigue a system of the past.

I started #mapcollective because it was obvious the old model of supply chain diligence was broken: hundreds of suppliers, thousands of SKUs, millions of data points โ€” all stitched together by humans and spreadsheets.

The old system was never going to scale.
It was never going to get us to climate stability.
And it was never going to meet the regulatory wave that is now here.

Agentic AI is the turning point:๐Ÿค–๐Ÿฆพ
Agentic AI isnโ€™t a chatbot.
Itโ€™s an autonomous workforce.

Our agents:
trace supply chains upstream,
monitor risk continuously,
validate every data point,
and generate compliance outputs automatically.

No human can do this at scale. Agents can. ๐Ÿงฉ

Adoption is exploding because:
EPR deadlines. EUDR deforestation checks. UFLPA forced-labor enforcement.
CSRD audit requirements.
These arenโ€™t โ€œnice to have.โ€
They are mandatory โ€” with real fines, real audits, and real accountability.

We are almost 6 years deep and 4 NSF grants and a VC round in, we arenโ€™t going anywhere ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ by @mapcollective

Is it to map 80,000 points with ai web scraping and then have your most willing (most overburdened) suppliers validate it?

No!

We as a tool that has a transactional graph scraper built in want to be clear-after trials and tribulations with trying to get accuracy out of ai, it can only be used when other information is inaccessible.

The best route is to go to willing suppliers empty handed except for a way to better manage information transfer and better propose longevity and interdependence as a collaborative organization.

The core insight in getting suppliers to agree to collaborate is this:
We have to (in defense and commercial) build a NEW industrial base. With this many disruptions we CANNOT rely on the industrial base of the past 20 years.

Does your supplier want to be a part of that? If so, can they provide access to a limited data pool, constrained by access? Anonymized & zero trust if needed?

And if you do have a willing supplier then for the love of god do not dump ai data on them! Use their collaboration to establish a system of classified information exchange, then use ai for the transactional graph only when necessary at the deepest tiers.

And for the opaque areas in deep tiers where you are trying to find data through ai, make a plan to reorganize this part of your supply chain, even if it means making a multi year plan to help build the new industrial base.

***for the purposes of this video, transactional graph refers to information gotten about the supply chain from bill of lading, corporate disclosure, ai web scraping.
***Declared graph refers to information gotten directly from suppliers & sub suppliers.

Most companies are trying to build one โ€œperfectโ€ supply-chain map.

But there are actually two or more different maps.

The declared graph is what suppliers say exists: structured, top-down relationships collected through surveys, contracts, bills of materials, and direct reporting.

The transactional graph is what the evidence suggests exists: shipments, purchase activity, certifications, facility records, ownership data, public disclosures, and other signals scattered across systems.

Neither is complete on its own, so the real intelligence comes from comparing them.

Where they agree, confidence increases.

Where they differ, you may uncover outdated records, undisclosed suppliers, spot buys, alternate production sites, hidden dependencies, or emerging disruptions.

Thatโ€™s why we shouldnโ€™t simply keep creating more manufacturing data lakesโ€”or discard historical ones.

The opportunity is to connect existing data where it lives, structure it into a shared evidence graph, and continuously reconcile it with new information in real time.

The differences arenโ€™t just data-quality problems.

They are often where the most valuable supply-chain intelligence lives.

I mapped these parts in seconds. Map Collective maps thousands in days.

7 stages, 7 countries; titanium ore from a mine in Mozambique to the airframe of a fifth-generation fighter, traced end to end.

Trump just signed EO 14415: "Securing America's Defense Supply Chains and Ensuring Domestic Acquisition of Critical Materials."

Buried in Section 3: the Department of War is now explicitly authorized to use AI to map supply chain vulnerabilities, bottlenecks, and single points of failure before issuing any waivers.

And every prime contractor and subcontractor now has to submit an indentured Bill of Materials, tracing every part, component, and material back to the origin of the raw material. Guidance is due in 180 days. Waivers freeze January 1, 2027.

That's not a "someday." That's a mandate with a clock on it.

Most primes are staring at spreadsheets, tier-1 supplier lists, and hoping nobody asks about tier 4.

We just mapped 7 tiers of a titanium supply chain โ€” mine to airframe โ€” with sourced evidence at every stage, in the time it took you to read this post.

If AI mapping is authorized, the only question left is whose AI you trust to do it before January.

The US just bombed Kharg Island.
This isnโ€™t an oil story.
Itโ€™s a supply chain story. A food story. A medicine story.
And for me, the founder of @mapcollective, a supply chain traceability platform, two weeks from my own kidney transplant, itโ€™s a very personal one.

#Hormuz is on day 6 now of disruption, but it isnโ€™t the only chokepoint that could create this level of havoc.

3 scenarios every supply chain leader should be stress-testing right now:

Taiwan blockade. 92% of advanced semiconductors on one island. A Hormuz disruption is painful. Taiwan is existential. The US has more explicit Taiwan defense commitments than Japan โ€” whose PMโ€™s single comment about Taiwan triggered Chinaโ€™s sanctions on 40 companies last week.

Full-scale rare earth export ban. China controls 94% of permanent magnet production. Theyโ€™ve already sanctioned Japanese processors, restricted gallium, germanium, dysprosium, and terbium. A complete halt to US-bound exports simultaneously grounds EV production, defense manufacturing, and the AI data center buildout. The legal architecture exists. Itโ€™s been road-tested.

USMCA collapse โ€” July 2026. The trade agreement making current tariff exemptions possible is up for 6-year review in four months โ€” the same month Section 122 tariffs expire. If it isnโ€™t renewed, every nearshoring strategy executed over the last two years unwraps overnight. New compliance blind spots at the border, overnight.

Hormuz felt like a black swan. We modeled it six months ago.
None of these are black swans.
Theyโ€™re predictable consequences of supply chains built for cost and efficiency with no visibility below Tier-1.

Oil prices are skyrocketing. But thatโ€™s not the supply chain crisis you should be worried about.

4 months ago, we modeled a Strait of Hormuz disruption with @anadyrhorizon. Today, itโ€™s the top story on every financial news outlet in the world.

The media is focused on crude. Weโ€™re focused on what comes next.

Trumpโ€™s #tariffs were struck down Thursday.

He had a replacement ready the same day. Then raised it to the legal maximum by Friday.

The rate is 15% flat โ€” starting tomorrow, February 24.

But hereโ€™s the detail most people are missing:
USMCA goods are fully exempt. Mexico and Canada just became dramatically more attractive sourcing destinations overnight.

Supply chains are already rerouting. And every reroute obscures the actual origin of your materials through the supply network.

The tariff situation changes again in 150 days. Planning around that is nearly impossible right now.

Question for procurement and risk leaders: has your team modeled the USMCA exemption into your sourcing strategy yet? And do you know which of your Tier-N suppliers are already rerouting through Mexico? by @mapcollective

I wasnโ€™t expecting a mic-drop moment todayโ€ฆ but then it happened.

At #Crush2025, the Deputy Administrator of the SBA got on stage and said something that stopped the room:

โ€œFor food supply and critical minerals, supply chain resilience is our top priorityโ€ฆ and we are deploying capital across ALL agencies, not just ours.โ€
โ€” Bill Briggs, SBA

You could feel every founder, investor, and operator instantly lock in.

Because that sentence means one thing:
The window for exponential growth in our industry is now.

#Crushโ€”masterfully hosted by K Street Capital and the incredible Paige Soya โ€”felt like a catalyst point.

A collision of founders, funders, and thinkers who are quietly (or not so quietly) shaping the next decade of American innovation.

If today was the spark, the next year will be the wildfire.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Stay tuned. Map Collective has some big things coming in supply chain resilience. by @mapcollective
