Maple Ridge’s international DECA competitor, Yousif Rahimi, rocked his exam and case study role plays in his principles of finance event. Competition was tough and he learned lots. Competing at this event was a huge achievement in itself, and we are so proud of this Raven!

Maple Ridge takes on the DECA International competition in Anaheim, California this week!

Skills in entrepreneurship, communication, problem solving and creativity have been evident in our training over the past few days. And now, our very own Yousif Rahimi is ready to take on the exam and role play competition over the next few days for the international championship!

MRSS will be “Lifting Each Other Up” tomorrow by wearing pink! #pinkshirtday
Inclement weather won’t stop us from standing up against bullying and cyberbullying behaviours.

Pink Shirt Day, nationally and at #mapleridgess, recognizes the importance of unity, inclusivity, and diversity of all people.

The “Lift Each Other Up” image above was created by Corey Bulpitt, an internationally recognized artist from the Haida Na7ikun-Raven Clan. The design was created in Bulpitt’s signature graffiti style, with two gesturing hands featuring a traditional Haida human face. This indicates the welcoming and respect of others and serves as a friendly greeting with is used throughout Coast Salish communities, with similar gestures used throughout communities in the Norwest Coast. by @maple_ridge_ss

Each week in February, Black History Month, #mapleridgess classes are critically analyzing quotes from Black people who exemplify excellence in their chosen field.

During week 1, our JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) team also began our “Black Change-makers Who’s Who?” contest. by @maple_ridge_ss
