«Out of Glarus» – horgenglarus x H100

Im Rahmen der Zurich Design Weeks laden wir euch herzlich zum Ausstellungs-Apéro ein:

Für einen Abend zieht Glarus nach Zürich – mit horgenglarus Klassikern und Neuheiten des Schweizer Möbeldesigns, Glarner Textildesign, lokalem Handwerk und ausgewählten Designschätzen aus der Region.

Zum Apéro erwarten euch Glarner Spezialitäten und feine Drinks, musikalisch begleitet von «Bob Meier & the Nailers».

Glücksbringer aus Stoff – Schlüsselbund aus Schweizer Siebdruckstoffen

Für den Workshop habe ich mein textiles Archiv durchstöbert und eine Auswahl bunter, eigenwilliger Stoffreste von DANZ und aus der Textildruckerei Mitlödi zusammengestellt.

Nach einer einfachen Anleitung flechten wir daraus individuelle Schlüsselbunde – ergänzt mit eigenen Bändern, Materialien oder kleinen Fundstücken.

Ein Workshop zum Entdecken, Kombinieren und Experimentieren mit Farben, Mustern und Texturen. Aus textilen Resten entsteht ein kleines Unikat zum Mitnehmen – Erinnerung, Glücksbringer und täglicher Begleiter zugleich.

DANZ by Mara Danz – Now at OF GOODS⁠

DANZ entwickelt Projekte, die sich den emotionalen, sozialen und politischen Dimensionen von Textilien widmen. Die recherchebasierte Praxis entsteht im Austausch mit Expertinnen aus diversen Disziplinen, sowie durch Auseinandersetzungen mit Archiven und Sammlungen und bildet die Grundlage für die zeitgenössischen Designs. So entstehen unter anderem farbintensive Siebdruck Prints die in der Schweiz gedruckt und zu limitierten Editionen weiterverarbeitet werden.⁠

DANZ develops projects that explore to the emotional, social, and political dimensions of textiles. The research-based practice emerges through dialogue with experts from various disciplines, as well as through engagement with archives and collections, forming the foundation for the contemporary designs. The pieces currently available at Kaiserhaus include colorful screen prints produced in Switzerland and further developed into limited editions.⁠

We begin with nominee Mara Danz and the project weaving echoes.⁠
⁠
As part of the project weaving echoes, DANZ researches archival material, textile history and textile-based crafts, often in dialogue with experts. A special focus is placed on the textile history of the canton of Glarus – once a centre of Swiss textile production and the region where Mara Danz grew up. ⁠
⁠
Through process-oriented methods, material-based experimentation and collaboration with local experts, research is translated into contemporary design. In partnership with Textildruckerei Mitlödi, vibrant screen prints are developed from archival sources and printed onto deadstock fabrics, linking industrial knowledge with artistic research and contemporary design. In dialogue with artist Stefanie Salzmann, the potential of Swiss sheep’s wool is explored through natural dyeing and felting. ⁠

Produced in Switzerland in limited editions, the works embody a joyful, artisanal and process-oriented approach to design.⁠
