it’s world Down syndrome day!!

Here’s some pics from the almost 11 years of friendship with my girl, mir.

I think about DS a lot. It’s hard to put into words the honor it is to be so close to somebody who has Down Syndrome. Mir has completely changed my life and how I view most things. She is complete magic. I think a ton about those who are missing out and misunderstand the magic, because man the world would be missing a chunk of Gods beautiful creation without peeps that have Down Syndrome. I think about our future babies and how we will raise them to see and celebrate their worth. A few years ago I heard the song “extraordinary magic” by Ben Rector and I literally sobbed like a baby. The song says,

“And I know that miracles happen
Who cares what they say
Is love nothing short of a miracle
Happening over and over every day
So I'll keep my eyes open,
Awed and amazed
And if you start to doubt it
I'll remind you of the million ways
I see it, I see it
I swear I do
I see extraordinary magic in you”

And I hope and pray that if you know or don’t know somebody with Down Syndrome that you keep seeking the magic because it’s nothing short of amazing. by @maramapeswest

Words don’t articulate how much celebration you deserve. You take care of us girls, celebrate US everyday, and are a constant best friend. I don’t know how I can put in a caption how much we love you. This week we celebrate you as a father, your 30th birthday😜, and you completing residency. Proud doesn’t even cut it. We love you SO much!!

Girly had her first dance recital this weekend🥹 We’ve never seen her so happy, excited, and in her element. We should have known since she constantly is saying “WELCOME TO MY SHOW!” followed by a dance party, to which we must “clap for her.” If you watch the last video you’ll see her tell me I need to clap for her. 😂😂😂

Happy Mother’s Day, Mar! When we got married I was so excited to see the mom you would someday be. Joie is one lucky peanut because you are her mama. We hear so often nowadays how Joie is becoming so much like you, and I couldn’t be happier that’s the case.
