I have a bad mom. Mother’s Day is the one of the weirdest days in the entire world for me. It’s a reminder of an absence that few know, and some can hardly grasp to understand. Even writing this, I don’t have the proper words to articulate how I feel- which if you know me, isn’t like me at all…I’m FULL of touchy feelings

It’s hard to grieve a person who isn’t dead, ultimately a relationship that brought you so much immense pain/suffering, and now a relationship you don’t even want. It’s even harder to become a mother to my baby sister, who will forever be my sister and my baby. It was hard to go through girlhood, and now womanhood alone with nobody to call. It will be just as hard to pick a wedding dress, as it was to pick a prom dress alone. It’s hard to have never had a mom hug. It’s hard to sit here and write this post, and to explain to new people about her. Truth is, I hate opening up, I’m an open book about everything until I’m not. It feels nobody will believe the stories, that are now distant nightmares of her.

As I look through photos, and shed a few tears, I grieve what never was and never will be today. However, I also beam with pride at the little girl who saved her sister, and also herself. I look at the teenage girl who figured it all out, without a woman guiding her. I look at the woman I’ve become knowing the way I love other’s so passionately is because of the love that was missing. I look at who both my sister and I are now resilient, strong, powerful, successful, educated, and full of love- we beat every odd and every statistic! It’s a privilege to be alive and be better ♥️

I take a moment of space today for my grandma, who raised two granddaughters, after having only sons herself. Her love and care is something I cherish and I am so lucky she is still here- those after school nights, and summers at camp grandma saved Brynna and I’s life. She taught me the importance of education and how to become a teacher myself. To my dadda, I love you so much; thank you for raising two girls by yourself, and to all those who raised themselves, Happy Mother’s Day to you! It’s okay to have a bad mom and hate Mother’s Day! I will never forget my excitement and the experience of voting for @kamalaharris and @timwalz!! I’ll never forget this election. It was incredibly powerful to see, and I hope that American democracy can move forward!

I didn’t get to brag much about Tim Walz in my last post, but how AMAZING is it a former public school teacher rose to a Vice Presidential candidate!! I trust teachers, as one myself, with my life!! @timwalz I hope you know what you did for everyone, in particular teachers!! If you want real change, as an educator; we have the grit, resilience, and mindset to “get it done. Our profession is many times, nameless, thankless, and now deprofessionalized. This changed that view. I cannot express how badly I want to see more public servants in public office, and I hope to see your name on the ballot again soon! 💙

For those who are unaware of the last 24-48 hours: so far; men have threatened sexual violence against women, the RNC announced PROJECT 2025 is THE PLAN, right-winged media has announced Trump’s plan to “go after his enemies”- DAILY MAIL I’M LOOKING AT YOU BABES, and have let the devious nature of their hate speech/crime be known.

Things are going to get much worse before they are ever remotely better. My heart agonizes with the most rural and marginalized communities, whom this will affect the most.

If you voted for Trump, you voted completely against yourself and the patriotism his followers claim they bestow. When you get exactly what’s coming to you, because these policies WILL AFFECT you directly too, you’ll get exactly what you deserve and voted her. It’s an absolute SHAME, it affects the rest of us even more so.

I’m really angry, frustrated, betrayed, and confused by the state of our country and how, at every given point, American’s will choose hate over protecting marginalized communities.

My heart breaks for the women, black and brown communities, fellow LGBTQIA+ members, trans people, fellow educators, disabled, and all those who will be deeply affected by the Trump Administration.

The American Public School system, as a teacher myself, is trying to- but limited- in the education we can provide. So many voters, lack the education to truly know how this effects them. However, what this shows me more than anything- is most will refuse to critically think, and want someone to do it for them. Sickly, I believe every Trump voter enjoys the cruelty and the hatred. All of you sicken me.

Why is it every “Christian” will vote for Christian Nationalism and force their beliefs, and do the opposite actions of the God they claim to follow? Why does this keep happening? I’m scared eternally for the people in my life, whom I love most and what their future looks like. We are on the brink of facism, and some of you didn’t do your homework on those implications. It is a PRIVILEGE to not worry right now!!!!!!!

I’m even more enraged that the one of the most qualified presidential candidates of ALL time, is being dismissed based on her gender and race. Black women are the some of the most incredible women I know. Vice President Harris ran such a wonderful campaign; in less than 100 days, I’m so proud of her!! I’m proud of Tim Walz, a former teacher for the work he has done.

To those who are marginalized and reading this, you deeply and utterly matter to me. It was an honor to vote for you!! I will always do so!! We need community now more than ever, reach out and I’m here!! ✨

I’m proud to have voted, with enthusiasm, for a female president for the second time in my life!! I will forever feel the gravity of this moment, and continue to remember the little bits of joy for that day. 💙

Today, it was an honor and privilege to vote for the little girl who still lives within me!! It was a privilege to vote for the women I love, my baby sister, friends, and all those women who fought before me!! 💙✨

Secondly, it was a privilege to vote for my former students, their futures, the country THEY DESERVE TO BE EQUAL IN, and for all my fellow teachers: including Tim and Gwen Walz. BOTH former teachers, I trust teachers with my life. They saved that little girl many times over. They inspired me to become one, I voted for them!! 🗳️💫

Today, I voted for LGBTQIA+ rights; as a queer women and for the community that loving showed me how to become my best and truest self!! For my friends, whom I love more than myself- today I voted for you!! 🇺🇸🦋✨

For all minority communities and immigrants, today and forever you have my vote!! Nobody is “illegal” on stolen land, nobody should receive less opportunities because of their skin, nobody should be trapped in cycles of poverty because of tie between race and socioeconomic status, everyone DESERVES an equitable public education, and not one soul should feel or be told that America isn’t “for them” because they’re not white, upper-middle class, and Christian. America is a melting pot, and SHOULD reflect that for all of her people! ⭐️

America, I voted for your future and that we are taking millions of steps forward; NOT millions of steps back!! Together @kamalaharris and @timwalz you will forever change our country and take her into the next dimension, where she belongs!! It was an honor to vote for you both!! 💙

But like no forreal, I love getting dressed up- it’s my favorite part of the night!! Especially growing up plus-sized and fashion obsessed; I have always loved clothes and putting a fit together!! I love to wear unique pieces and what you wouldn’t traditionally expect from a “fat” (I don’t consider the word derogatory) or plus-size girl!! Baby, I’m the best thing, and the BEST DRESSED, at the party! ✨🎀

It makes me so happy to put on my Bratz’s doll themed clothing and go live my life, with self-love and acceptance!! ⭐️

I love Cher Horowitz’s energy and always have; she’s such a Valley “it” girl, and was SOOOOO ahead of her time with her closet computer that told her if her outfits matched!! I’ll never forget when I saw that scene for the first time, and was like this girl is a fucking genius and I want to be her. SO. BAD! ⭐️

I absolutely love that her iconic plaid outfit has become so popular and that I was able to find a plus- size version of the costume on @dollskill! It’s really hard finding CUTE, plus-size Halloween costumes (like it’s actually spooky ooky 👻)! This one is so cute, I can rewear it, and it ran large- so it could fit at larger than a “3X”!! 💫

Remember, wear what you want, endlessly love your body, and be confident- nobody is you and that’s your superpower!! Show your confidence in your costume! 🎃👻🖤
