My journey to getting here today is one for the books, and without the CONSTANT support of #TeamMonhoe I wouldn’t be strutting my stuff down the streets of NYC and all over the world!

I’m immensely greatful for the ability to live my life as authentically and proudly as I do. This career and this show has taken me places, and introduced me to people that have become part of my chosen family, and for that, there’s nothing I can say but thank you.

I’m so excited to announce that @festivalplayerscambridge has announced their full cast for their upcoming production of “Kinky Boots”!

While I’m still incredibly humbled to play the titular role of “Lola/Simon” I’m excited (and terrified) to begin tackling my DREAM ROLE!

👠 “Watch out world… here we come!” 👠

With less than an hour and a half of rehearsal, I was given the opportunity to once again zip up my boots, and perform as “Lola/Simon” in @operahouse.nc production of “Kinky Boots” stepping in for @JustinAllenTate.

This certainly has been one of the craziest weekends I’ve had in QUITE some time, but I’m feeling SO loved. I cried. I laughed. AND SANG my ass off for another community of people who welcomed this giant into their space.

Thank you to Justin + Bradley for trusting me with this role, To Carson for allowing me to go FULL OUT; (wig malfunctions and all), To Brian, for the QUICK key change turnaround times (and belting my ass off), To Allyson, for allowing me to utilise every costume in my arsenal, to my Angels for being SUCH strong supports and KILLER performers, to Erin, (my love!) for giving me the opportunity to just PLAY with you, and my love, @mpearcew … you are SUCH an incredible human, you lifted me up and held me, and gave me a reason to keep shining. Every scene where I could run off stage to hug you. You are SO beautiful and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you. 💋

And most importantly, thank you Wilmington, NC for having me. This story is SO important to share with people, and the labor of love that it takes to put it on, was evident in the support that you showed during these last few shows.

I am so incredibly lucky to be a part of the #KinkyBoots family, and cannot wait to be reunited with you all again…

After what seemed like an eternity, I whipped this little number out of the archives for “Unhinged Idol: Singing Competition” (@unhingedtalent) at Balcon Salon (@balconsalonnyc) last week, hosted by Shetland Stoli (@svetlanastoli) and couldn’t be happier at the thought of strapping BACK on those iconic boots that gave me this platform… ✨

Okay kids… story time… 📚 👓

Meet Mark (@rainbow_drizzzle). 👋 If you’ve been with our journey through the NYC local Drag Scene, you’d know this face from my beginnings, as he’s been a staple behind the scenes, making sure I’m always show ready. 💋

What you may not know is that this amazing human has been by my side for 10 YEARS. Ten long years where we both got to witness each others growth and successes; owning our identities and becoming the leaders in our communities we promised one another we’d eventually give back to. ❤️‍🩹👏

Ten hard years of watching one another fail and struggle; but never give up or forget where we’ve come from, and continue to fight for one another. It’s always a gift finding chosen family that resembles parts of you… but it’s even more precious when those people continue to surprise and inspire you to continue making art and the world a more magical place to exist in. ✨🥰

I remember this audition day like yesterday… scared absolutely out of my mind, and fuled entirely on my passion for wanting nothing more to prove that there IS a space for non-binary biPOC artists in the theatrical world… 🎭

My ankle was still broken, and despite being rusty as ALL hell, just making into the room in my faux-duca’s, and looking at the proof of exactly how far we’ve come almost a year later… 🥰

Look. Hard truth? This life, this world, and this industry is NOT EASY. I’ve constantly found myself doubting my ability to succeed or even to want to continue doing the work… 🥵

But I do. I continue showing up. I continue to showcase exactly why I do what I do. And I continue to create in mediums that may not fit traditional or modern norms. ✨

Today? I’m grateful. I’m unapologetic. And I’m absolutely excited for what the next chapter holds for this long legged high heel wearing queer.🦵🏾👠

I don’t think there are enough words of gratitude for the people that I get to work with for making this moment happen for this #BroadwayBaby… ✨

Nine years ago, I met this amazing woman. Absolutely starstruck, unable to believe that we were sharing the same space, and humbled to no end that she’d spent her evening with someone like me… while a quick and simple encounter, it was the spark of inspiration that she left behind, that continued to burn brighter with each passing performance or rehearsal session. 🌟

Flash forward to this past weekend, I’m asked to attend as a guest speaker, sharing a raw personal life experience in front of peers, friends and chosen family, members of the community I’ve respected and fallen in love with… supported completely years later by the incredible, Audra McDonald (@audramcdonald) 🎭

While I’m still reeling from this experience, the roar of the applause and true support that came from folx who give their all; I’m forever indebted and thankful to the community that is part of my chosen family, Covenant House (@covenant_house / @covenanthouseny), for furthering my platform, for supporting my dreams and standing by your commitment to supporting all young people who have entered your lives. ❤️‍🩹

Today, and every day we celebrate, and uplift, the voices and stories of the LGBTQIA+ identified youth who walk through our doors here at Covenant House, and are extremely proud to highlight our New York Covenant House Alumn, Marcelle LaBrecque (@MarcelleInNYC), more commonly known by their stage persona, as Marilyn Monhoe! Like Marcelle, LGBTQIA+ Youth stories are paramount in spreading awareness, and educating those about our young people working collectively to overcome homelessness, no matter their background or identity. ✨

This 2025 Pride Season, Covenant House is dedicated to supporting and showing extra love to support our LGBTQIA+ residents and Alumni furthering our mission to show unconditional love in spite of the rejection so many of them have faced. ❤️‍🩹

I’m super excited to begin lacing up my faux-Duca’s and my corset to join @thalianassociation’s production of “Mary Poppins”! 🌂

They say that manifesting your dreams is the best way to become the person you were meant to be. ✨

With the announcement that @kinkybootsmusical is returning for a National Tour, I wanted to take the time to highlight exactly what this show has had not only in my creative career, but my personal life over these past seven years.

I never dreamed I’d be “Lola”. For the longest time I just wanted to be part of a project and show, whose message matched my own personal mission for what this world could be. For years, I studied. I trained. I learned every track imaginable, all the choreography, all the staging, just waiting for the day to get the phone call.

2022 really put things in into perspective. It was my first international booking, it was my first New York City headlining production, and I met the creative minds behind the musical that gave me this platform.

I’ve met so many wonderful people, folx who continue to cheer me on as the show travels from regional, community and professional theaters; with people coming back to me saying the same thing… “We wish we could have seen you…” ❤️

I wasn’t sure if I was ready to step back into the boots, but one thing is for damn certain. I’m going to fight like hell to get into the Tour. This show, in short, is my life story. The loss, the heartbreak, and the authenticity. It’s in my bones, and the glitter is in my DNA.

I’d say… I have the world’s best job. ✨

It’s been SUCH a treat being able to return as an Alumni Guest Speaker during @covenanthouseny’s recent Youth Homlessness Rally while on my recent performance tour as @marilynmonhoeny! 💋

Seeing so many familiar faces, and people who have supported our creative endeavors since the very beginning was such a full-circle moment, especially while being able to share and connect with others during this bold #AllInMovement. ✊🏾

Myself, alongside numerous volunteers and staffers, packed over 500 outreach kits for youth experiencing homelessness, added signatures to their petition to Congress to pass funding for youth homelessness services, and got curious people involved in the movement by declaring that not only are we all committed to serving the young people who come through Covenant House’s doors, we’re also working to create a future where youth homelessness does not even exist as we know it today. ✨

A super thank you to our partners at @ChickfilA Tri-State, @delta, @HardRockNewYork, @kiausa @NewTraditionMedia, @outfrontmediausa, @Starbucks, @Shutterfly, and TSX for helping us to kick off this month with the Rally to End Youth Homelessness in Times Square, and to my colleagues at Covenant House (Pam, Shakeema, Kris, and my incredible presenter, Eddie Izzard!) ❤️
