Here is another peek behind the scenes of the Expansion residency with cohort @jugnupanti as they develop “Fireflies’ Dream.”

Using a combination of live puppetry and stop motion techniques, they tell the story of a ghost who reaches out to a child to tell a lost story. This piece is as enticing as it is rich in detail and motion.

You can catch it this June 18 - 21 @iochicago Fremont Theater as part of the culmination of Rough House’s first ever puppet residency! Tanima and their puppeteer friends will be one of 6 acts in total. Ticket link in bio🔼

Thanks to all who donated this far. We’re getting closer—about 1/3 of the way to our year end goal with just 10 days to go!

Can you help us get there and give a little to have a tremendous impact on Rough House Puppet Arts?

We support artists, provide arts education and community engagement and we do it all with the just joy of puppets, some theater magic and your enthusiasm for our mission. Thank you— here we come 2026!

HELP! WE NEED 100 EYEBALLS👀! Have you had your eye 👁️on what Rough House has been up to this year? We’re celebrating 25+ press mentions, a nearly SOLD OUT run of Exquisite Corpse shows in October, paid opportunities for 151 individual artists, 172 workshop participants, and 3,582 audience members!

Now it’s time to ‘see’ us through to the next stage—a year of more puppet adventures and explorations, showcases and some surprises to come.

We want to see what you’ve been up to too. DM us an eyeball image, a short 3-5 word share (optional), and your IG handle to be included in the Rough House 2025 end-of-year “We See You” collage eye ball image. When we make it to the next benchmark (just $531 more to reach $2k!), we’ll post this art for all to see and tag you and your eyeball too. Plus, if you give a little you’ll help us reach the next level!
(Yes, puppet eyeballs are accepted! For collage purposes!)
