Returning for a second appearance on a Device compilation, MarchSQR (@marchsqr) brings ‘Houndz’ — a track that builds tension through tribal percussion before diving headfirst into grime-inspired basslines and heavily modulated synth work.

To shape the timetable for the night, we handed things over to fate and pulled out the bingo wheel!

For the opening round, the numbers landed on @marchsqr and @veld.dj , who will be going back to back.

Weva Collective Presents: MarchSQR

Hailing from Weert but now based in Nijmegen, MarchSQR has been DJ’ing and producing for over five years. Getting into underground electronic music through grime, he draws influences from across the bass spectrum, from dubstep and dub techno to breakbeat and UK funky. Always looking for the sweet spot between the club and more heady sounds, his sets blend heavy percussion, deep bass, and dubby atmospheres into a relentless, immersive flow.

He has played at Breek, Jangala, Device, and Fissatron3000, and delivered multiple radio sets for Open Source Radio, Maxi Radio and RaRa Radio. Alongside DJ work, he is increasingly focused on production, with his debut track MBblues released on Device’s Connecting People Vol. 1 compilation; the first step toward bringing more of his own material into the club context.

Played my first gig outside of the Netherlands last weekend somewhere hidden in the hills near Bern. One of the most fun crowds I ever played for :), shoutout to the bass community in Bern!!

Played at @device.culture x @jangala020 last weekend!!! It was great meeting the whole crew, it felt like there was some real synergy there with all the music we played. I finally got to unleash all the UK funky tracks I've gotten into since the last time I played (even one of my own (slide 1!!)).

Back from the lab and ready to shell it:
@marchsqr steps out of the smoke with a bag full of low-end pressure ⚠️

Rooted in grime, shaped by dub and sharpened by breaks; his sets cut through fog like sonar. Think weighty percussion, twisted rhythms and a hypnotic drive that never lets up.
Having touched down at Breek, Fissatron3000 and Golflengte, and left echoes on the waves of RaRa, NARadio and Open Source through our talent program we’ve invited him to take the stage repping @jangala020 in @willemeenbynight in collaboration with @device.culture this weekend. Packed with new ammo he’s takes the stage with maybe even some self-forged heat.
