No words can sum up this night. What a group of players, coaches, back room staff, loved ones and fans that are a part of our club. The reward for all the sacrifices and hard work we all made together.

South Melbourne. The Northern Star. 💫

Marco Jankovic. South Melbourne Captain and SC Helos Ultra of note. 💥

When it comes to South Melbourne Hellas, there is not a club in the @auschampionship that even comes close to the achievements and standards. Oceanic Club of the Century met with Countless Trophies, the crew from the Southside of Melbourne City have set the bar more than high. Take one walk through Lakeside and the achievements and trophies are everywhere to be seen with gifts from previous Club World Cup opponents such as @manchesterunited on display. The names of Ange Postecoglu, Paul Trimboli and Ferenc Puskas have echoed all throughout the stands of Lakeside in the past decades. Now, it’s the names of Aguek, Bonada & Jankovic that have the South Faithful incredibly excited about a new era, reminiscent of those dominant days.

As for Marco Jankovic - he is the first Footballer (that we didn’t personally know) that took a chance on SC Helos back in early 2024 at the Greek Herald Cup giving @jjimmy.jam an interview about the NSD. When the day comes & Marco co templates retirement, we’ll be sure to have him in the Red & Black for one season. He’ll be up front with JimmyJam & Kumquat. Shoutout Marco. What a footballer. 🗣️ taken in Lakeside Stadium by @marco_jankovic

This one's going on the fridge 📸🥰

A special photo of brothers Marco and Luka Jankovic after they played against each other in the Australian Championship overnight.

Luka scored the goal that sent Moreton City Excelsior to the QFs, with his brother playing at centre-back for South Melbourne!

You can bet Marco will be hearing about that one for while 😅

The match was an absolute cracker, ending 3-3 after a one hour lightning delay!

Marco Jankovic is a National Premier Leagues and Australia Cup veteran that has been on the winning side against Wellington Phoenix not once, but twice!

“It was pretty weird to be honest, to know that it was almost exactly six years ago to the day that my Bentleigh team beat Wellington.

It will be a Jankovic family reunion in the Round of 16 on Sunday as his little brother Luka could be in the squad for Olympic FC.

“I was actually an Olympic junior for a year, back when I lived in Brisbane.

“When [the draw] came out, me and the whole family were pretty shocked.

“There’s definitely been a lot of banter going back and forth (between me and Luka).”

“He’s obviously a young player who’s coming through and has had a few starts this year.

“We’ll see how he goes. Hopefully he comes on and does a little bit, but not too much.”
