Most people walk past I AM without knowing the full story.

They see her. They photograph her. They stop, stare, and sometimes wonder what she means.

But many people don’t know where she came from.

And now, many don’t know that she’s leaving.

This October, I AM will be moving from Embarcadero Plaza as the plaza prepares for renovation. After traveling from Burning Man to Petaluma, Las Vegas, Miami Beach, and now San Francisco, the sculpture is preparing for her next chapter.

So Marco took to the streets to talk with the people who pass her every day. What do they think she means? Did they know her story? And most importantly...did they know she was leaving?

Now we’re asking everyone the same question:

Where should I AM go next?
We’re looking for a new home for the sculpture, whether through purchase or lease. A city. A public space. A waterfront. A museum. A campus. A destination anywhere in the world.

She can go anywhere.
So help us spread the word.

Watch the conversations. Share this reel.
Tag your city, your mayor, your favorite public art space, or someone who can help bring I AM to her next destination.
Because her story isn’t ending.

She’s just getting ready to move.

IS YOUR CITY NEXT?

Deja Solis — model, collaborator, singer, songwriter, and dear friend — shares her story and experience as the woman who posed for this sculpture, formerly known as R-Evolution, now I AM.

The video takes us through the process of creating the sculpture and the collaboration that brought her likeness and presence into the work. These are Deja’s words, her connection to the piece, and her experience of being part of its creation.
Now, I AM needs a new home.

Currently located at the Ferry Building, the sculpture must move by October 14, and we are looking for the next place where she can be displayed and experienced.

If you know of a public space, organization, institution, collector, or community that may be interested in becoming her next home, please reach out, share this post, and help us find her next home.

We're looking for her next home.

She's on the Embarcadero now, but come October she moves on. A new city, a new waterfront, a new place to stand tall. If you know a space, a connection, or a community that might want a 45-foot sculpture, tag @sheisart_iam and tell us.

Great public art usually starts with someone saying "we want that here." Help us find that place. 💛

Moving her takes a crew and real care — but she always rises again. She's on the Embarcadero now, until October
