On November 28, 2025 Swans played their final show of their 'Birthing' tour in Berlin and I was present to document once more, camera in hand, the colossal beast that is Swans for this memorable occasion.
This visual document I co-directed with Danish filmmaker Peter Harton, will be included with the upcoming live album Newly Sentient Being, released October 2, 2026 on Young God Records https://younggodrecords.com/products/newly-sentient-being and Mute https://mute.ffm.to/swans-nsb
To witness and capture this last staggering performance of the 'Big Sound' era was truly wondrous; we’re thrilled to share a first look at the fruits of our labor, with special thanks to our friend Casey Campbell, whose camerawork contribution was invaluable. The film is produced by Klub Moderne and Eye Light in co‑production with Zauberberg in Berlin.
SWANS LIVE BERLIN 11282025 screenings in select cinemas/cities to follow later this year. @swans_official @doctorharton @caseyinberlin @klub_moderne @zauberbergproductions @emskidoodlepip @philpuleo666 @dana.schechter @kristofhahn667 @normanjw @larrymullinsofficial by @marcolepsy

Heartbroken 💔🖤 Ciao Matteo by @marcolepsy

I always dread this day. Two years without my friend Luis but also two years living with Luis. Going through old messages recently, I saw again these two from Luis, after I had shown him some footage. [2023-12-17, 18:24:07] ~Luis: This will be your most touching piece of work
[2023-12-17, 18:24:27] ~Luis: And I’m scared but also so happy
It was heartbreaking to read, but it also pushes me to keep going to finish what we had started together PER ASPERA AS ASTRA @sacredbones by @marcolepsy

Q: "@whatyoucouldnotvisualise was, and continues to be, screened worldwide at selected venues. At one of those events, you and Mick @mda1959 Allen appeared on stage with the Italian avant-garde band @larsen.to.it to play a few REMA - REMA songs. How did that come about? And is this the closest we'll ever get to a Rema-Rema reunion?"

A: "@marcolepsy, the director of the REMA - REMA "What You Could Not Visualise" documentary, knew the members of Larsen and recommended collaborating for a special live performance and screening of REMA - REMA in Turin. It proved a resounding success, and Marco won the award for Best Music Documentary at the @seeyousoundfestival Festival in Turin that year (2023)"

Honoured to have filmed the final Swans shows in Berlin for the Birthing tour. A jaw dropping experience. Impossible to keep the camera steady during The Merge. After 15 years of documenting Swans this was the apotheosis. @caseyinberlin @doctorharton @zauberbergproductions @swans_official @giosalmoiraghi @philpuleo666 @dana.schechter @kristofhahn667 @normanjwestberg @larrymullinsofficial chrispravdica taken in Festsaal Kreuzberg by @marcolepsy

Finally revealed - the music video made for the always brilliant @tehoteardo a collaborative effort with @peterlynchfilm to bring the iconic David Lynch / Angelo Badalamenti track to life via Teho's beautiful interpretation of it which can be found on Teho Teardo's new record -- Teho Teardo Plays Twin Peaks and Other Infinitives
out on October 31st on Specula. Made in Canada with love. The magnificent statuesque artist @lisaklapstock stars in the video. Shot over 3 very cold days outside of Toronto in a secret location where abandoned cars from 60 years ago have been waiting for us patiently #TwinPeaks #DavidLynch #LauraPalmer #TehoTeardo #BlixaBargeld #TehoTeardoBlixaBargeld #StefanoBollani @jonahvenneri @alteregopost @lisaklapstock @wheredoesabodyend @whatyoucouldnotvisualise by @marcolepsy
