In the midst of an insanely difficult couple of months I’ve been tackling this project at @thegreyhoundhotelcromford in Cromford, Matlock. Took a lot of back and forth planning and involved coming in at a less than ideal time when the pub refurb was nearly complete. Which meant there were a lot of obstacles to overcome in terms of cable routing and amp rack placement. We put in 12 @yamaha_proaudio_official NS-AW592 speakers powered by Yamaha XMV4140 amps, with a @behringer XR18 acting as speaker management & mixer interface, all controlled through @mixingstation.app via a custom layout. I have never installed so much trunking in my life, and it was pretty gruelling work over the 5 or so days me and @_russ_clark were there installing it all. In the end though I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. Part of the brief was for it to blend in to the traditional decor of the pub, which I think we achieved. Control for music playback needed to be as simple as possible for bar staff to manage, which mixing station made a breeze to set up. We put in a Bluetooth receiver in the back function room, and I used the custom layout functions to program a button which mutes the main music feed from the bar to those speakers in that room, when you turn the Bluetooth music on. Nice to finally catch one of these beauties in the wild installed in house in a venue. Always baffles me how @behringer managed to offer a feature set way above the competition sitting at twice the price. They are so nice to use too by @marcreevessoundengineer

I recently decided to go all in on these @gatorcases quick release microphone adapters. Never really found quick releases that useful in most live sound scenarios as you’re typically not swapping out mics all the time. But in the studio they can be super useful for a number of reasons. One of the tipping points was dropping one of my Neumann mics whilst unthreading it from the wall mounted vocal mic setup I have in my studio where the mic boom arm hangs downwards. Thankfully the mic still worked but it took a bit of a dent to the chassis where the xlr connector is.

Only problem is now I see myself investing in some @triad_orbit_official stuff when I move to my new studio space. They use their own quick release system so I can see that getting annoying but first world problems I guess 🤷‍♂️ by @marcreevessoundengineer

Installed some HDMI over cat6 cable runs today @maltcross - TVs are on wheels so all removable leaving just a neat cat6 wall plate when not in use. Just in time for the football! Two TV displays and one projector feed 👌 If you need anything like this doing give me a shout! by @marcreevessoundengineer

Was lovely being a part of the @thetelevisionworkshop play 'I Had A Wheelbarrow'. Brilliant play and fantastic cast, and for a play set at Notts county, what better place to host it than Notts County itself! taken in The Nest by @marcreevessoundengineer

Today's afternoon project - DIY trekpak dividers and lid organiser for my peli. The 'lid organiser' is literally just some zip cases I bought off of Amazon for £6, velcroed to the inside of the lid. Trekpak dividers are literally just corrugated plastic, self adhesive foam and bobby pins. Very easy to make and cost about half the price of buying a trekpak system.

I was just raw dogging it and chucking all my tools in my peli, but over time that's just led to things getting bashed about, and was always a faff digging around trying to find what I needed. I can definitely fit less inside now, but that's the trade off I suppose. by @marcreevessoundengineer
