I kept wondering if my freebie was actually helping anyone. 🥲

I mean, I was HAPPY seeing people download it. Of course I was 😂

But then what?

Did they actually read it? Did something click? Or was it just another PDF sitting somewhere on their phone?

And there was another thing I kept thinking about…

Some of the lessons inside my Carousel Leak Check feel pretty basic to me now.

What if people opened it and thought, “I already know this”?

Then yesterday evening, a creator who’d downloaded it came back and told me it helped her.

She’d gone through her content, posted a new carousel, and even tagged me in her Story saying my guide helped her think differently about how she structures her carousels.

I was genuinely so happy reading that. 🥹🤍

Because yes, downloads are exciting.

But knowing someone actually USED what I made?

That’s a completely different feeling.

And here’s why I’m sharing this with you.

When you’re the one writing a carousel, everything makes sense in YOUR head.

You know what you meant on slide 2. You know why slide 3 comes next.

But the person reading it doesn’t have all that context.

And sometimes that’s exactly where the connection gets lost.

You don’t always need another Canva template or a full rewrite.

Sometimes you just need to look at your carousel from the reader’s side and see what’s missing.

That’s what my free Carousel Leak Check helps you do. It walks you through five things to look at before you start changing everything again.

If you’ve got a carousel you’re not quite sure about, try checking it first. 🤍

You bought the carousel templates.

You know what you want to talk about.

But somehow, you’re STILL staring at Slide 3 wondering what the hell you’re supposed to write. 😭

And the worst part?

You actually enjoy designing carousels.

It’s figuring out what to SAY inside them that takes forever.

I used to think having an idea and a Canva template meant the hard part was done.

Then I’d sit down to write and realize…

I still had no idea what belonged between the hook and CTA. 😂

Here’s what took me way too long to understand:

Having a carousel idea and knowing how to turn it into a story people want to follow are two completely different skills.

A template gives you somewhere to put your words.

It doesn’t tell you what your reader needs to understand first, what she might wonder next, or how to bring your offer into the conversation.

So here’s one thing I’d try before writing your next carousel:

Read your hook and ask yourself:

“What question would my reader naturally have after reading this?”

Answer THAT on the next slide.

Then look at what you’ve written and ask the same question again.

See the difference?

You’re no longer filling seven boxes with random tips.

You’re building one conversation, thought by thought.

Now imagine having actual writing examples and prompts to refer to when you get stuck on those middle slides.

Instead of opening another pretty template that says “ADD TEXT HERE.” 😭

That’s the kind of help I focus on inside Carousel to Sales. 🤍

You’ll find slide-by-slide writing guidance, storytelling examples, prompts, Canva templates, and my personally used five-slide Carousel to Leads bonus for connecting your reader’s problem to a relevant freebie.

Because knowing you need a better hook or CTA is one thing.

Knowing what the hell to WRITE between them? That’s a completely different headache. 😂

And you shouldn’t have to figure out every slide from scratch.

If that’s the part you’ve been struggling with, comment CAROUSEL and I’ll send you the details. 🌊🤍 by @maregoesdigital

I used to write carousels like I was preparing a presentation for my boss.

Every detail needed explaining.

Every point needed another example.

And somehow, one simple idea turned into a whole damn report.

Because after spending all day at my 9–5, the LAST thing I wanted was to publish something that wasn’t helpful enough.

So I kept adding MORE.

Until I realized I was confusing more information with more clarity.

Let’s say you’re writing a carousel about why people aren’t downloading your freebie.

You start explaining hooks.

Then Canva design.

Then posting times.

And suddenly you’re on Slide 12 wondering how the hell you got there. 😂

Here’s what I’d change:

Before writing a single slide, decide what ONE question your carousel needs to answer.

For example:

“Why doesn’t my freebie feel like the natural next step after someone reads my content?”

Now look at everything you’ve written.

Does it help answer that question?

If not, it might be useful information… just not for THIS carousel.

And here’s the part people often miss. 👀

You can cut your carousel from 14 slides to 7 and STILL have readers reach the end without knowing what to do next.

Because over-explaining is only one way the connection can break.

Your hook might attract the wrong attention. Your slides might lose the thread. Or your CTA might introduce something the reader wasn’t expecting.

That’s exactly why I created my free Carousel Leak Check.

It walks you through 5 places to examine in your own carousel so you can spot where the connection between your content and the next step might be breaking.

Before you spend another evening rewriting every slide, wouldn’t you rather know what actually needs checking? 😭🤍

I used to spend HOURS on a carousel in the evenings. 😭

Adding tips. Rewriting slides. Making sure I hadn’t left anything out.

Then I’d post it and keep checking Instagram.

Nothing.

And I’d think… seriously? I just spent my entire evening on this. 😂

I genuinely thought if my carousel was helpful enough, people would naturally want more.

Turns out, someone can love your tips and still have no reason to ask about your offer.

And the annoying part?

Knowing that doesn’t magically tell you what to write instead.

You’re still sitting there wondering what belongs on Slide 3, how to connect it to Slide 4, and how to bring up your offer without sounding like a random ad.

That’s why I recommend Carousel to Sales. 🤍

It’s for the part where you actually have to sit down and WRITE the thing.

Instead of rewriting your whole carousel when one slide doesn’t make sense, you have a structure to work from.

Instead of staring at “ADD YOUR TEXT HERE,” you have examples, prompts and checklists to help figure out what belongs there.

And you can learn how to bring up your offer without making the last slide feel like a random commercial break.

I’ve also added my Carousel to Leads bonus — a 5-slide, fill-in-the-blank template to help connect your content to your freebie.

Because knowing what your carousel SHOULD do is one thing.

Actually knowing what to WRITE? Whole different headache. 😭😂

If you’re ready to make that part less confusing, comment CAROUSEL and I’ll send you what’s inside. 🤍🌊 by @maregoesdigital

I used to open Canva knowing exactly what I wanted to talk ABOUT…

But what I wanted someone to DO after reading it?

Yeah… hadn’t thought that far. 😭😂

I’d fill all 7 slides with helpful tips and then stare at the last one, trying to come up with a CTA that made sense.

Here’s what I’d do differently:

Before writing Slide 1 of your Instagram carousel, decide what you want the reader to do next.

For example, let’s say your audience is posting helpful carousels but nobody’s asking for their freebie.

→ Hook: Describe that exact frustration.

→ Middle: Show why mentioning a freebie doesn’t automatically give someone a reason to want it.

→ CTA: “Not sure if your carousel is making this mistake? Comment LEAK for my free Carousel Leak Check.”

See how the last slide doesn’t come out of nowhere now? 😂

You knew where the post was going before you started writing it.

SAVE this before you open Canva for your next carousel. 🤍 by @maregoesdigital

I used to think a helpful carousel + a freebie at the end was enough. 🫠

Turns out, mentioning something doesn’t mean people understand why they’d want it.

And I know… another content resource? When you’ve already saved a million tips and templates? 😂

That’s why I’d start with the free one.

My Carousel Leak Check helps you spot 5 things you might be overlooking in your posts.

Before buying another resource, figure out what actually needs fixing.

I used to think a good hook just needed to explain what my post was about.

So I’d write something like:

“5 tips to improve your Instagram carousels.”

Nothing wrong with it.

But WHY would someone stop scrolling for that? 🫠

I was so focused on telling people what I wanted to teach that I forgot to give them a reason to care.

Look at these two:

❌ “5 tips to improve your Instagram carousels.”

✅ “Your carousels get saved… but nobody seems interested in your freebie. What are they missing?”

Now we’re talking about something she’s actually dealing with.

And she’s probably wondering why it’s happening to her. 👀

That’s what I mean when I say a hook needs more than a topic.

And GIRL, I know. The last thing anyone who’s bought 47 carousel templates wants to hear is that there’s ANOTHER thing to learn. 😂

But a template can’t tell you what your reader needs to understand before your offer makes sense.

That’s why I recommend Carousel to Sales. It’s about learning how those pieces connect, not collecting another bunch of slides to fill in.

But before you even look at another resource, I’d start with your own carousel.

Because the hook is only ONE place where people might lose the connection.

Want to see what I look for when checking whether a carousel gives someone a reason to take the next step?

Here’s the annoying part.

Some of those carousel templates I bought were actually GOOD. 😭😂

The layouts were nice. The hooks sounded great.

But I’d still fill in the slides, mention my freebie at the end, and expect people to want it.

Like… WHY would they? What had I actually given them a reason to want?

And yes, I hear myself talking about buying too many resources and then recommending another one.

GIRL, I KNOW. 😂

But that’s kind of the point.

I didn’t need another set of slides telling me what to write.

I needed to understand what was supposed to happen in the reader’s mind BETWEEN those slides.

Why this thought comes first.

Why the next one matters.

And why the offer should make sense by the time she gets there.

That’s the part Carousel to Sales goes deeper into.

Not just filling a template, but understanding how to put the whole conversation together.

So if you’ve already got the templates but you’re still guessing how to connect your content to your offer…

Maybe that’s the part worth looking at next. 👀

The worst part? 😭

I genuinely thought I was doing my audience a favor.

Like… I spent my WHOLE evening on that carousel. Of course I thought I was doing something right. 😂

And there’s a chance you’re doing the same thing without even questioning it.

Especially if you’re creating Instagram carousels to promote your digital product.

People read them. Maybe save them…

and then disappear like they went out for milk. 🫠

I made a free 5-point Carousel Leak Check to help you spot where your carousels might be losing potential leads before they even get to your offer.

12 comments saying “love this.”
9 people downloaded your freebie.

And not ONE person bought your product. 🥲

Okay, but WHY?

Because getting someone interested in a free download and getting them interested in buying are two different things.

And there are 2 mistakes you might be making without even noticing.

Mistake #1: You attracted someone who wanted the freebie, not necessarily the result your product helps them get.

Let’s say your carousel teaches 5 ways to make prettier slides.

People love it. They save it. They want your free templates.

But your paid product teaches how to turn carousels into leads and sales.

See the gap?

You got people excited about making things look better.

You didn’t give them much reason to care about making those carousels convert.

And then there’s the second mistake.

Mistake #2: Your freebie solves one problem, but never helps people see the next one.

Someone downloads your freebie, gets what they came for, and leaves.

Not because your product is bad.

They just don’t understand why they’d need it.

Your freebie should help with a real problem.

But it should also make sense within the bigger problem your paid product solves.

For example:

Your carousel helps someone notice that their content isn’t bringing leads.

Your freebie helps them check WHERE their carousel might be losing people.

And your paid product helps them learn how to build carousels with a clearer path toward leads and sales.

Now the steps actually connect.

Of course, this doesn’t mean everyone who downloads your freebie will buy.

But at least you’re not leaving them to figure out the connection on their own.

And before you change your product, lower your price, or make another freebie…

I’d look at the carousel that brought those people in.

Because the disconnect might have started before they even downloaded anything. 👀

That’s one reason I made my free Carousel Leak Check.

It’s 5 things you can check in your own carousel to spot where that connection might be getting lost.
