“The hunger of living, my god. How far she was going in the wretchedness of need: she’d exchange an eternity after death for eternity while she was alive.”

?!?!?!!!

+ some snippets of my life recently… warning: a lot of to do lists and a lot of studying

“Lori was tired, because she never stopped being.”

If you saw my story you already knew I was reading this but good GOD. I always forget how much I love Lispector until I pick her up. Every page of her books are underlined and annotated because every line is just that profound. I just started An Apprenticeship but I can already tell this is going into my favorites bucket. Please appreciate some of my favorite quotes from literally the first chapter.

The bell jar is truly the read for sad girl September…

Also get yourselves a friend who will bring you matcha back from their Japan trip 🥹. There are two ways to my heart: books and matcha. Now I have so much I don’t even know what to do with it. Ah the paradox of excess…

“And the serenity for which he labored was shattered as he realized the little time he had in life to read so much, to learn what he had to know.”

William Stoner and I are one and the same. Reading this book is like having an out of body experience, one where I’m observing my own life from the outside. I believe the day has come when a book has finally dethroned The Count of Monte Cristo, and what a glorious day it is.

Also featured are my brain rot annotations, some new acquirings (my venture into poetry), as well as some art I’ve enjoyed recently.

Recent bookshelf additions along with my current read 🪳

First book mail package in the history books! I’m going to be sappy for a second but when my package from @uminnpress arrived I won’t lie and say I didn’t shed a few tears. I started this account back in December of last year and it’s crazy to see what’s become of it. It’s been amazing sharing my reading journey with you all and meeting new book minded friends. I cherish each of you dearly and I hope you all stick around and see where life takes us next.

Ok sappy done. Anyways, I can’t wait to read (with my minimal free time) and I’ve heard so much about all of these works. I think Stoner has been on no.1 on my TBR for AGES. I finally caved and adopted him… I tell myself it’s to celebrate 1k but deep down I know that’s just an excuse. Anyways, happy Sunday and happy reading my loves <3

Traveling 🤝 visiting bookstores 🤝 impulse purchasing

Stopped by @bnwickerpark and I think it takes the cake for the prettiest b&n I’ve ever seen. I wasn’t planning on purchasing anything, but as with all things in life, change comes faster than you anticipate. I just had to get something… otherwise it’s like I never visited…yk? Is the logic logic-ing??

Also featured: my purchases! (Baby’s first @nyrbooks), downtown chicago, fireworks on navy pier, and my very overdue first heytea experience.

A flat lay a day keeps the carbohydrate metabolic cycles away!

jk…it really doesn’t.

Some moments from this past week, including the creamiest matcha I’ve ever made, and the monstrosity that is on my whiteboard.

Also thank you all for 1k!! Beyond blessed to be a part of this community and it’s been wonderful to meet all of you. Here’s to many more bookish friends <3

Hi loves! I’m alive I swear, I’ve just been locked in my room studying for more hours than I can count. But never fear, I will try my best to remain as active as I can and give some (albeit meagre) updates on what I’ve been reading.

A quote from Atonement that I enjoyed: “was that all there was in life: indoors or out? Wasn’t there somewhere else for people to go?”
