I can’t tell you how very grateful I am to be included in the most magical wedding of our besties daughter who I love like my own. Pure joy and magic and surprises and non stop dancing for hours on end. Seeing as the wedding took place in Lyford if you’re going to invite me I’m honored and I’m all in. I hand painted my skirt to match the walls. There’s a big palm on the booty in the back to match. Kind of like Lyford camo. Can you even see me? Thank you Hyatt family for including us in witnessing such joy. I painted my skirt to match the walls and made my favorite lucite wicker cuff with Swarovski crystals. I painted the skirt, wore it last night and it’s headed straight to the bride where it truly belongs. She will rock it! #. #margotlar #lyfordcay #tomscheerer #lyfordcayclub #lyfordcaybahamas #lyford #lyfordcamo #handpaintedwalls #handpaintedwallpaper #margotlardesigns #handpaintedjewelry #junkanoo #bahamaslife #junkanoobahamas #junkanooband #lyfordwedding #slimaaronsstyle taken in Lyford Cay Club by @margotlar

Rathaus-Glockenspiel — one of Munich’s great symbols. It has 43 bells and dozens of moving figures.

And the figures tell two stories

1. The upper level — the wedding of 1568

That’s the scene with the knights and the red-and-white canopy.

It represents the wedding of Duke Wilhelm V of Bavaria and Renate of Lorraine in 1568. A huge tournament was held on Marienplatz to celebrate. The mechanical scene ends with the Bavarian knight defeating the knight from Lorraine. taken in München Germany by @margotlar

I can hardly express how sincerely touched I am to have my art included in this breathtaking restaurant, La Sponda, in Miami, Florida. The collection was over a year in the making. Each lamp has its own story to tell. This is lamp #1. There are more to come and each lamp is one of a kind. This is a sneak peek of the very first lamp. It was a dream to be included. Thank you to my son for writing this about our family’s experience on 9/11. I just couldn’t do it yesterday. It felt as real yesterday as it did 25 years ago. My love to all those who lost loved ones on that horrific day. by @margotlar

Hildene. @hildenethelincolnfamilyhome The Lincoln family summer estate nestled in The Green Mountains overlooking the Battenkill Valley. I never tire of the views, gardens or incredible decor. A Georgian revival mansion built in 1905 with @schumacher1889 oxblood grass cloth and exquisite Indian floral paper in Mary Todd Lincoln’s bedroom. A grisaille dining room with celery colored silk drapes with the door leading to the kitchen bound in leather and studded with brass tacks. A magnificent formal garden and an original Pullman car on the property that two presidents have stayed in. The Pullman car colors are insanely beautiful. A mesmerizing celadon in the club car surrounded by gleaming mahogany polished to such perfection it almost looks liquid. Then there’s the perfect French blue of the porters bunk. Absolutely glorious colors. Truly a feast for your senses. #margotlar #hildene #formalgarden #parterre taken in Manchester, Vermont by @margotlar

Summer things in Vermont. My mom used to make this chocolate cake. I haven’t made it in years. If you haven’t made it try it. It’s fantastic. A rich luscious chocolate cake made with buttermilk and a cup of strong coffee. It’s called Beatty’s chocolate cake from @inagarten . I also made a version of her corn chowder. I like to make the stock out of the corn cobs and tried charring the corn and adding charred poblanos. I try to follow directions while baking but have a hard time everywhere else. šŸ¤“ taken in Vermont by @margotlar

I’m up in Vermont thinking about these gorgeous neoclassical frescoes hand painted from the 1850’s from my trip a couple weeks ago. I’ll be painting my walls again soon. Again. And again. šŸ˜‰Thank you brilliant @herstil and Anthony for picking such an absolutely beautiful wedding venue for your dreamy wedding. These interior intricate hand painted frescoes were painted in the 1850’s when Napoleon’s niece, Princess Marie Alexandrine Bonaparte and husband, Count Valentini commissioned them for a specific reception space known as Salon dei Mori. The actual artist is not known but the prominent architect Giovanni Caproni was the architect and engineer for this beautiful villa. This is so common. These artists were passionate and visionary yet no one knows their names. Little known fact is how much this resounds with me. Among my numerous jobs in my past I did start out as a faux painter and muralist so this beautiful work speaks volumes to me. I have many more stories to tell. I’ll get there. I’m not being coy it’s the undiagnosed ADHD. šŸ¤“@villavalentinibonaparte #giovannicaproni #margotlar #salondeimori taken in Villa Valentini Bonaparte by @margotlar

Ok. Hear me out. You have no idea how grateful I am to be with my family. We’ve just lost our beloved, beautiful, and brilliant mother 4 months ago. I look at this sunset that we spent with my amazing brother and his equally amazing wife and daughters and can only think how she and my dad would be so happy we were together. I had a lump in my throat the whole time thinking how my parents would have loved to be with us. So, here’s where I get naughty. I just cannot stomach the word ā€œgratefulā€ anymore. I would love to have just hash-tagged it but the rebel in me makes it soooo hard. I mean a sunset, family, and hashtag grateful? I’m 100% about being grateful and am, however, I feel the term has lost all gravitas and meaning with the complete over saturation. Yes, I’m grateful. Yet now I can’t even say it out loud. It’s just too much. I’m more of a witness protection program person in my head. It is beautiful when people say it and mean it. I mean no offense to anyone; I’m just being silly. All that being said…what a freaking amazing sunset in 100 degrees! We kept saying it was just like sunset in the keys. I should and probably will delete this. The #grateful train is just killing me. Ok. That was tmi. I just meant to say #grateful and couldn’t bring myself to do it. My gag reflex was too strong. šŸ’—šŸ’—šŸ’— Also, I truly was lost in the light. It was amazing and I was so moved. I am just sad that the phrase grateful has lost all true meaning and now means a chai latte or some such nonsense because this here is the real meaning. taken in Connecticut by @margotlar
