A taste of Italy has arrived on a private island in Coconut Grove, set against an exceptional waterfront backdrop. La Sponda is from Gioia Hospitality - the team behind Daniel’s Miami and Thomas and Kassidy Angelo’s love letter to Italy. It reflects their years of travel to their family’s region of Puglia along with their trips throughout Italy with Chef Danny Ganem and Wine and Beverage Director Daniel Bishop.  Handmade pastas like Spaghetti alla Chitarra al Tartufo. Full blooded wagyu steaks thoughtfully sourced with a focus on provenance. A soon to be award winning wine list. An Italian inspired cocktail menu. And a Martin Brudnizki-designed room — hand-painted details, custom lamps designed by Margot Larkin illustrated with Coconut Grove’s own peacocks. Open now, Wednesday–Sunday.  #LaSponda #LaSpondaMiami #CoconutGrove #MiamiDining #HauteLiving

What do you do for a living?” It’s a question that makes artist Margot Larkin laugh a little. There’s something quite magical about what she does—but it’s rather hard for her to describe. “I usually reply that I’m a painter,” she says. “But what I actually do is tell stories.” Margot’s journey as an artist began at Christmas one year when she wanted to give her husband something unique. She decided it needed to be from her heart and from her hands, so she learned how to reverse glass paint— an art form that involves applying paint to a piece of glass to create an image that can be seen from both the interior and exterior of the glass. Her first pieces were paintings of shells, something she has always loved. “Now 20 years later, I paint all sorts of objets d’art, abstract art, clothing, lamps, walls, and utensils. Nothing is safe from me,” she laughs. Among Margot’s favorite works are the backgammon boards she paints. “One that I especially love was inspired by The Secret Garden, which I read as a child,” she says. “I imagined myself teaching my children how to play backgammon while also sparking their creativity by asking if they can picture little fairies flying through the garden.” Click @flowermagazine and go to the blue link in our bio to see more from @margotlar! Photo by @brantleyphoto Article by @marionlaffeyfox #painting #artwork #artist #summer #botanical #design #plants #florals #flowers #colorful #flowermagazine

There will be so many beautiful things to see at Palm Beach Design Social THIS TUESDAY March 4 at @nortonmuseumofart! A few things we’re especially excited about? Seeing Casa Branca textile and wallpapers AND their gorgeous new custom furniture collection all in one place! Embodying the finest American craftsmanship, each Casa Branca piece is made to order in Casa Branca fabrics or COM and can be ready in six weeks. What’s not to love about that?✨ In addition to showcasing their fabrics and wallpapers inside the Restaurant of the Norton, the Casa Branca Atelier will be beautifying the breezeway that’s adjacent to the Norton’s Sculpture Garden. Come soak up the warm Palm Beach sun and see all of these signature silhouettes for yourself.✨ Additionally, immediately following the Veranda talk in the morning, Caroline Gidiere will be signing copies of her new book, A Life in Good Taste outside in the Casa Branca Atelier space. ✨ But the fun doesn’t stop there! From 11AM to 1PM, artist Margot Larkin will also be hand painting glassware that will be available for purchase.✨ Featuring refined wovens, playful prints, and textural wallpapers—as well as tabletop, furniture, and accessories— @casabranca is born of Alessandra Branca’s renowned eye for “the mix.” Anchored by classical details and rich colors, patterns, and textures, their collections are inspired by the play between old and new, tradition and creativity.✨ Working with artisans, craftspeople, and producers in Italy, France, Great Britain, and the United States, their products invoke a playful take on the storied tradition of interior design. For Casa Branca, living well involves elegance and touch of whimsical, and they interject this into their evolving range of products and collaborations.✨ Don’t miss your chance to join us at Palm Beach Design Social on Tuesday. Get your tickets at the link in our profile before they’re gone!✨
