Naturally dyed Green hue photo dump for your Earth day feed— some of my favorites over the years from 2015 to this last week 🐉💚 Gentle reminder that Plant based color and organic/regenerative fiber is the way of ALL of our ancestors. Synthetic color and fiber is a new and terrible invention, let’s reject that trash going forward— shall we? So which is your favorite? #naturaldyersofinstagram #naturaldye #streetstyle #botanicaldye #artisanmade by @mariacauldron

Shout out to my Quechua relatives today, and any other unenrolled indigenous nation friends who don’t get their 💐 Did you know that if you are not a member of a federally enrolled indigenous nation you are not recognized or supported by 1000’s of potential grants and resources? As an artist or creator, grants are vital for keeping afloat so many, and most of the central and South American native bloodlines don’t even qualify for assistance, just because they don’t have a piece of paper. And as if the mixed indigenous diaspora wasn’t as isolating and confusing enough, to not be able to access support or seen as “official” is another hurdle a lot of us have to deal with. Being mixed also comes with its many complications as well— (I’m 1/2 Quechua / 1/2 Scottish/english) Non acceptance with full natives, and treated as other from the typical western aesthetic. I think this is a big reason why I turned to Art so young. Growing up in Kansas in the 80’s had little to no South American population, and we would try to find the feeling of the village in farmers markets and at the flea. When I created art, I was able to create my own world where all the cultures blended together and harmonized without judgement. Being of indigenous and or mixed descent is a difficult place to be, floating between cultures. I suppose our strength is seeing through preconceived notions and cultural norms, which allows us to see things more clearly than most. Whether you choose to conform or rebel, it doesn’t make you any less connected to your ancestors, and I just wanted to say no matter how you present yourself aesthetically, or what color your skin is, no one can take away your connection to your heritage and culture or your love for your people. Happy day to us all— Añay ayllukuna! Tupananchiskama 😘🌈🫶🏽 taken in Jacksonville, Florida by @mariacauldron

Comment DRAGON for full blog link + recipe 🐉 or scroll to my blog link on my bio. September 29th is officially Michaelmas, and now is the time to prepare for our dragon bread! I have made many dragons with Einkorn over the years that have been tasty, but overall dense. This recipe is by far the fluffiest and best I have made and I couldn’t not share! Big thanks to Karenza De Freitas for her contribution on the @jovialfoods blog for the Hawaiian Roll Recipe, which this recipe is adapted from 🐉 All Organic and nongmo optional toppings. Enjoy! taken in Atlantic Beach, Florida by @mariacauldron

Happy Equinox! Also my mamas birthday 🎉 love you mama! To be extra fitting for the occasion, I actually finished this piece this afternoon! I call this color Equinox Camo because of the balance of light and dark interacting in the dye pattern. This piece is naturally dyed with Myrobalan, Cochineal, and Indigo. taken in Atlantic Beach, Florida by @mariacauldron
