A quick reel of a table I did for a matching dinning room set! 🤍✨🕊

PROCESS:
1. Clean with TSP
2. Sand with 220 grit & wipe clean 🧽
3. Paint with Cottage paint ( I did 3 coats because it was a darker colour. You also could prime before painting)
4. Grab a damp cloth & rub back until you achieve your desired distressed look. At this time you can also buff out any texture from application.
5. Sand table top and any other rough area with 400-600 grit ( this step is optional)
6. Apply 2-3 coats of top coat. I used Saman water based flat topcoat.
7. Enjoy your new table 😊

A labour of love for this historical door from the 1860’s. 💙🚪
The hardware was polished, the door was skimmed, sanded, oil primed & painted! Perfect was not the goal but to heavily improve the worn and textured finish of the door.

COLOURS/PRODUCTS USED:
PREP: Dyna Patch Pro by Dynamic for skimming and filling of repairs.
PRIME: Insl-X Prime Lock oil primer
PAINT: Advanced High Gloss matched to PPG colour 546-7 Admiralty.

A much needed transformation for this front door! ☀️🏡

My customers called me wanting a long term solution to their front door that they have re done 3 times in 10 years. The door has always peeled off and they have no idea why. They even stripped it right down before & still had poor results.
•
Sometimes with these factory finish doors you don’t know what coatings are put on and they can cause issues.
•
I did what any good painter would recommend and that was doing all the right steps and more just to be safe. The door was stripped right down again to the bare steel, and then Mineral Spirt washed. The steel areas were primed with two types of primers to avoid any and all possibility of failure. ( I will list below )….The wood areas were them primed with a different primer. Areas were then caulked, patched & sanded on the side panels and wood trimmings to restore the worn side panels. Once all priming and prep was completed it was painted with high end Benjamin Moore products that would be best for this tricky door and high sun area.

PRODUCTS/COLOURS USED:
DOOR: Command Satin in CC-66 Rapture
SIDE WINDOWS: Aura Exterior Low Luster in OC-59 Vanilla Milkshake
1st PRIMER USED ON STEEL: Mtn 99% Zinc Primer
2nd PRIMER USED ON STEEL: BM HP1100 Acrylic Metal Primer
3rd Primer Used on Wood & Patching: BIN Shellac Primer
STRIPPER USED: Circa 1850 Heavy Body Paint & Varnish Remover

This master bedroom & walk in closet got a major facelift.
•
Would you believe that this room was 15 coats in total between priming, ceiling, walls, trim & doors!? Lots of work for an amazing finish.

CEILING: Ultra Flat Ceiling Paint in Pre Mixed White 01
UPPER WALL: Aura Matte in OC-152 Super White
LOWER WALL: Aura Matte in HC-148 James Town Blue
WALK IN CLOSET: Ultra Spec Eggshell in Pre Mixed White 01
OUTSIDE CLOSET DOOR: Reg Pearl in HC-148 James Town Blue
