Yesterday I reached 4 years of sobriety, which is not only one of the greatest gifts, but has also brought so many other joys into my life. One which is dancing again. I feel most at peace and alive when I am in the studio. I’m truly grateful for where I am today 🤍

Here we are- The Contemporinas! @jesminda93 and I had such a great experience competing in @thecomebackden dance competition last weekend.

It was challenging, humbling, and truly wonderful. I’m so proud of us for going for it! We signed up with only a few weeks to spare, and with some solid teamwork we choreographed and finished everything in about 4 rehearsals. (Thank you @cknudme for helping us clean it!)

I didn’t perform perfectly. I almost fell over at one point and couldn’t stop thinking about it for days. I immediately started beating myself up for not being perfect, for not winning.

And then I had to remind myself it’s not about winning and I’ll never ever be perfect. It’s about the incredible dance community that was brought together, that showed up and supported each other. It’s about the joy that dancing brings me.

I’m so grateful to be dancing again. Thank you @sarahtlucero and @victoriaquintana for bringing the dance community together ✨🫶 by @marian_hartmann
