“Floatsam”
Suspended in murky waters that dissolve into the void of space—half alive, half letting go. A place where answers blur and dissolve, where existence is never black or white but something in between.
.
1- This was the piece I’ve made for the collective show, which the theme was Black and White.
2- I also made a zine about verse 2 of the Tao Te Ching. It has been percolating on my mind for some years now and it was the main thing I was thinking about creating for the show.
3- Also made some stickers :) taken in Slice of Life Gallery & Studios by @marianayi

Kindling 🔥

It started with this beautiful live edge wood slab, with the bark still showing. Working in charcoal, this was more of a discovery in the grains of the wood, finding her in between.

This piece will be showing at the group show “Scary” @slicevancouver next Friday (Oct 23rd). 😉🖤

Inspired by the feeling of being grey, going down, unaware of life outside oneself. The isolation of losing perspective, when the world outside quietly disappears and all that’s left is what’s inward

“The Crown,” 2026
Created for a collective show @slicegallery, this piece grew out of “rendas,” weaves made of people that I’ve been drawing since the pandemic, originally tied to feelings of disconnection.
It’s a portrait of my son that is both empowering and a little disconcerting. It’s a question of how society will shape who he becomes, and how he’ll shape it back.
This will be up until tomorrow! And I wrote a bit about the making of on my latest newsletter (link in bio)

I’m paper thin
Less than nothing

Nothing special

Less than what I could have been
.

.
I wrote this a really long time ago. I feel like I can share now, because it finally feels distant.

The beginning of this year hasn’t been easy. Not only is the world suffering, but personally it has been a period of really low lows.
As a counterpoint, I’m sharing just a few of the highs here, and hoping for a better month ahead.
〰️So proud to have been selected for a commission with Piccolo Gallery—I’ll be working hard on this throughout the month
〰️Just wrote about an ongoing collaboration with @anaclara.bordou in my newsletter. Her art inspires me endlessly

[ Tao Te Ching - Second Verse ]

When people see some things as beautiful,
other things become ugly.
When people see some things as good,
other things become bad.

Being and non-being create each other.
Difficult and easy complete each other.
Long and short shape each other.
High and low depend on each other.
Note and voice make music together.
Before and after follow each other.

That’s why the wise soul does without doing,
teaches without taking.
The things of this world exist, they are;
you can’t refuse them.

To bear and not to own;
to act and not to lay claim;
to do the work and let it go:
for just letting it go is what makes it stay.

I can’t believe this is my third Mother’s Day as a mom. Here is a little comic I did about it ♥️
.
Ever since becoming a mom, feelings have become really layered.
Some are soothing soul good.
Others are scorching tongue bad.
And all the flavours in between.
But the aftertaste has been of smothering gratitude.
Life has been so rough lately. So much grief, fear, and deep despair.
But I have to be present. To be a safe space.
Ideally even happy.
Therefore I am.
