New representation, new opportunities ✨

One of the biggest lessons I've learned is to keep showing up, even when you can't see the results yet.

Behind the scenes, it's looked like years of acting classes with coaches who each taught different methods, sending self-tapes into the great abyss (actors know exactly what I'm talking about), taking workshops, and creating reels.

But the real magic has always been persistence and, perhaps most importantly, an unreasonable level of delusion. 🪄

All that to say: I'm excited to share that I've signed with Select Miami Talents for commercial representation.

Truly looking forward to what this next chapter brings. 🎬 by @mariaskyacting

Throwback to this scene study from “Marriage Story” with Lorenzo Patané at The Coach MC. Raw, vulnerable and honest work like this is always my favorite.

My first show reel is officially here 🫠

It’s surreal seeing years of training, classes and risks all come together. I’m so grateful to everyone I’ve collaborated with along the way, especially @thecoachmc for helping me pull together my strongest scenes, and @amanuel_t_t for bringing it to life in the edit.

It really feels like the beginning of a new chapter ✨ taken in Miami, Florida by @mariaskyacting

Meet the cast & crew of Team ReelBonds! 🎬

(Swipe for the cutest pic ever at the end 🐶🐱)

We are participating in the Miami 48 Hour Film Project, which meant we had just 48 hours to write, shoot, edit and deliver an entire short film.

At kickoff, every team was given a few mandatory elements that HAD to make it into the film:
🎭 Character: Jenna Kilarney, Customer Service Rep
🧻 Prop: Tin foil
💬 Line: “I can meet you later.”

Then came the fun part: every team pulled two genres out of a hat. We got… Film Noir / Food Movie. Can you guess which one we picked? 👀

Finally, we put our heads (and apparently our tin foil hats) together and dreamed up ‘Til Death.

I’d list everyone’s roles but we all wore multiple hats 😈 (Cheesy dad pun absolutely intended)

We put so much pressure on the finished film.

But I’ve realized that the messy, imperfect process captured in the behind-the-scenes moments matters just as much as the finished project.

BTS shows everything the final cut doesn’t. It shows the 4 AM call time. The location you somehow snagged. The mistakes. The problem solving. THE LAUGHTER. The exhaustion. The people standing just outside the frame who made the shot possible.

A finished film shows people what you can make, but BTS shows people what it’s like to make something with you.

And maybe most importantly, it reminds people that filmmaking isn’t just the finished product. It’s the people.

Some of the best relationships I’ve made in this industry started because we spent 10, 12, 48 hours on a set together trying to make something we believed in.

The finished film gets watched, but the process is where the relationships are built.

So yes, of course, post your movie. But also document the funny, chaotic, beautiful part of making it too. 🎬

How it started → how it’s going → how we think it’s going 🛸

Our ’Til Death poster is up for Best Poster in the Miami 48 Hour Film Project!

🏆 WE NEED YOUR VOTE!

If you love the poster (or just want to support a bunch of sleep-deprived filmmakers who made a movie in 48 hours), vote for ’Til Death for Best Poster. 🖤

I’ll put the voting info/link in my Stories!

Swipe for the original photo + evidence that we handled the competition like the completely normal, well-adjusted filmmakers we are…

We can’t wait to see everyone on September 26 at Savor Cinema 🍿

Do you like us better with or without tin foil hats?
