As Tropical Storm Rachel approaches Southern California, San Diego is under a Tropical Storm Watch for only the second time in recorded history!

With powerful surf, unusually high tides, and coastal flooding concerns, South Mission Beach has its berm in place. We’ll be interested in seeing what it looks like after the storm hits!

Register at marinelifelearning.com for our Trick or Treasure Beach Hunt in Mission Beach on Friday, Oct 30th at 10am! Part of our Homeschool Fridays sessions, families can come together for a friendly competition in our Shell Treasure Hunt for Most Variety of Shells, Largest Shell, and Smallest Shell.
Top winners in each age group (elementary, middle, and high school) will receive prizes, including gift cards and swag. All participants will receive other goodies!
After the hunt and prizes, families can spend the final hour in our Marine Science Open Lab, where students can learn about their finds with our resident marine biologist, create a take-and-make shell craft, explore preserved marine plants, algae, and animals, and get hands-on experience using real scientific tools. #marinelifelearning #sandiego #homeschool #competition #missionbeach by @marinelifelearning

The seed paper will be made from safely prepared waste items collected from our beaches and community.
