‘Props’ approaches absence as a political site where everyday perceptions and power structures are unsettled. By engaging the uncanny, the works reveal how forces of domination permeate images, language, and social hierarchies, exposing doubt as a tool of control while also opening space for resistance. Absence is not treated as emptiness but as a charged condition that shapes how we experience the world, inviting viewers into moments of intimacy, disorientation, and reflection.

‘Props´ becomes both deceptive and supportive, destabilizing what seems self-evident and encouraging a more critical, dissenting awareness of the realities we inhabit.

Since I discovered Keunmin’s work a couple of years ago, I’ve been struck by the strength of these paintings and their incredible way of depicting what a body is.
