After attending my family reunion this weekend, I was deeply moved by the legacy that lives within and around us. It led me to reflect on my roots and the generations that came before me. I wanted to share a few family photos—featuring my children, myself, my dad, my grandma Norma Jean Ratleff, my great-grandma Marjorie Bayless, and my great-great-grandma Gertrude Howell.
When I look at these images, I’m reminded of the words: “I am because you are, you are because I am.” that @malik.willoughby quotes often
Slide 1: Gertrude Howell (school aged) 1895-1993
Slide 2: Gertrude Howell later life
Slide 3: Marjorie (Howell) Bayless (school aged) 1915-2014
Slide 4: Marjorie Howell Bayless w/daughter Norma Jean Ratleff and grandson Kenneth Ratleff

Once a month: hair done, mani/pedi, brunch, a new dress or perfume.
Every Sunday: fresh flowers. 🌷💅✨
I’ve been doing this since I was 16 — little rituals that make life feel soft, feminine, and magical. 💖
