Fox & Found is officially launching our digital resale marketplace. Scan the QR code so our marketplace pops up into your Bright-space tab and it’s super simple to find and post items.

We will be posting a tutorial shortly but click on the “Start Here: How to Use” section for how to get started. This digital site will operate like a Facebook marketplace but exclusively between Marist students and everything is free of charge. Essentially students will post unwanted items under the designated tab and once another student is interested, they will email to figure out a meeting spot. Students are responsible for taking down their post after their item has been given away.

We will be offering a ‘Swap Spot’ in the Center for Civic Engagement and Leadership office for those of you who’d be more comfortable meeting in a third party location on campus. View the hours and locations under the ‘Swap Spot’ tab in our marketplace portal to learn more.

We are trying this out for the very first time so please DM us if you have any questions or problems with the site.

On Tuesday, September 15, the Center of Civic Engagement and Leadership had the chance to host Red Foxes Give Back For 9/11 through a grant from 9/11. Org with support from AmeriCorps. This event was truly incredible and couldn’t have been possible without the help of the Marist community who were able to surpass our initial goal of 1,000 care kits. Students spent the evening organizing supplies and filling kits with essential hygiene items that support our community partners including, Grace Smith House, Duchess Pride, Duchess Outreach, Hyde Park Food Pantry, and Hope on a Mission.

On Tuesday, September 22, we were able to pack our kits and donate them to one of our community partners @hoampk who shared how impactful our previous donations have been, and can’t wait for future donations from our red foxes.

We were also able to donate vegetables and some of our kits to @dutchessoutreach who expressed gratitude in our donations and how much help our donations have been to our community!

As the event took place, we had a poster where we asked students to think of a word or phrase that captured what the experience meant to them. Many of them mentioned community, community building, and togetherness. When we think of unity, it looks like a room full of red foxes side by side, not only helping one another but our community. Thank you to everyone that showed up and dedicated their time and energy in helping provide comfort and compassion for our neighbors! 🦊❤️
