Return to Arrowhead 135

1st place in 35 hrs 48min

Average race temperature -4° (feels like of -22)

Crossing the finish line was not how I expected it to be. I’ve never had a victory feel so defeating. But that’s what this course does to you.

Throughout the race, I kept reminding myself that I had more to give. It was a game between giving more effort when the comfortable choice sounded better. Winning was a choice to give everything that I had.

I did that. That broken feeling at the finish line was the result of a war of attrition. Between the weakest parts of me, and the man I aim to be.

To the race director Ken, thank you for the opportunity to experience what only those who face Arrowhead will understand.

Massive thanks to @caleboutside and his dad for their dedication to filming this race. This one’s going to be an epic story to tell.

Most importantly, thank you to my wife Lucy for all her continued support. Every message I received gave me the strength to continue moving forward no matter how I felt. I’m a blessed man because of you.

Thank you to all of you for supporting me in this journey. It truly means a lot✌🏻

Beat My Beer Mile: Knockout vs St. Olaf

Presented by @summitbeer and their Summit Nialas Compass Pack NA Beer

This season, I’m racing 9 college football teams to see if they can run a faster mile than my Summit Nialas NA Beer Mile.

Each lap they complete earns points — if I catch them, they’re out.

$1,000 on the line for the team with the most points at the end of the series.

Current Leaderboard:
1. St Olaf - 10 pts
2. UWSP - 9 pts

Next 3 races vs..

Creating more runners isn’t the highest goal. But to inspire people to find out who they are by taking extreme action. In your work, relationships, and life.

I’ve had the honor to speak to several organizations this year about practical ways to overcome obstacles. To show them how to put a plan in place for forward progress. My goal is to continue building out more opportunities like this. To meet people where they’re at, and show you that you’re capable of more.

Yesterday I got to spend time with Cameron Hanes. It started in the morning with a run, followed by breakfast at his local diner, bow rack, podcast, and ended with a steak dinner.

All throughout the day, I witnessed countless people be uplifted in his presence. Not because of what he’s accomplished, or the figure he is, but how he treats them. A kind word, voicing encouragement to those he interacted with. He was a light.

He’s not perfect, as you and I aren’t either. But the simple fact is, what happens in the quiet moments of our life, reveal the most amount of truth.

Your character is not defined by metrics or numbers. It’s not determined by people you’ve never met. But by how you handle each little moment you’ve been placed to be.

Thank you for a great day, to both you and James taken in Eugene, Oregon by @mark.dowdle

In a world full of personal brands and follower counts, this is a reminder that the goal was never to be the light. It’s to reflect it.

How many of us can honestly say Jesus is our number one priority, every day?

Funny how you can get everything you thought you wanted and realize it was never what you needed.

The world says more.

Jesus says surrender.
