Traditional trailies aren’t going to like this one.

Ultra is big business now. Lotteries, brands, acquisitions, series.

The next frontier is media.

Who’s winning it? 👇

To my husband,

What a stressful, chaotic, exhausting, and absolutely incredible weekend. I think I experienced every human emotion possible. 😂

You are, without a doubt, the strongest man I have ever known. The discipline, determination, early mornings, and endless miles you put into chasing your dreams never cease to amaze me. I couldn’t be more proud of you, not just for what you accomplished, but for the man you are every single day.

What an absolute privilege it is to be your wife, your biggest cheerleader, crew chief, and smoocher. 😂❤️ There’s nowhere else I’d rather be than right beside you, even if these adventures take a few years off my life.

To our incredible crew, we love and appreciate you more than words can express. And to everyone who followed along, cheered him on, and sent love our way, THANK YOU. ❤️

Whatever crazy adventure comes next, I’ll be right there beside you.

He’ll be back. Brick by brick.

Forever your biggest fan.❤️

Backyard ultras create a completely different fuelling challenge.

You’re not just managing carbohydrate, fluid and sodium. You’re also managing pace, recovery time, appetite, sleep loss and the practical opportunity to actually eat between loops.

The recent World Championships showed just how extreme that can become, with the USA winning the team competition and Belgium’s Merijn Geerts and Ivo Steyaert both reaching 124 yards.

At that point, hunger, decision-making and appetite can all become unreliable.

That’s why a good backyard strategy needs more than food. It needs structure, communication and a well-drilled crew.

Run. Refuel. Recover. Repeat. And repeat again. And again. And again.

Two things I saw on the internet that inspired me that I hope inspires you too
✅ @kim.gottwald with some encouraging words for @mark.dowdle during the @bigdogbackyardultra
✅ Strangers cheering @_clayton_young_ “YOU BELONG”
…..
These two events have two things in common, more people are rooting for your success than your failure. We are more capable than we think we are, we all just need to believe in our abilities to persevere.
….
Ready to crush the week and hope you are too

he ran 623 km in 93 hours and still calls it a loss.

ello on @rajshamani's podcast: "there is no second place. it's DNF."

so why did he stop at loop 94?
"because i love this game. i want to run in 20, 30 years."

the same love that kept him running for 93 hours is what made him stop.
obsession burns you out. love keeps you in the game.

what game do you love this much? comment 👇
save this for the day you want to quit.

Throwing down the gauntlet (shoe). I am a healthcare worker keeping my family afloat by the grace of God. In all this I try my best to train to win ultramarathons. I got 8 ultras under my belt this year. Here is my entry to the Last Soul Ultra 2027. #lsu27

My recap of the 2026 Backyard Ultra World Team Championships.

Huge congrats to Team Australia securing second place with a score of 1069, almost 100 yard improvement on our result two years ago.
