If we went back to "white land owning males" I wonder if the count would be higher.

The screenshot is confusing because the results are for Nueces County of which Corpus is just a part.

So, of 211,500 registered voters, 24,992 voted in Prop 14 and 21,278 for the Corpus specific Prop A.

Where were all the ballot harvesters?

Once again, on the same day I question a depiction of San Antonio to be displayed on camasitas to be distributed at the 1st home game of the Spurs, I find this.
I wish to take back my comments on that. It wasn't racist, THIS is racist!

Currently it's around $0.127 on avg with another 5.5% increase for 2024 on the table. A public utility! I'm at like $0.114.

As we all know, half the electricity generated is lost in the transmission wires with no apparent attempt to solve this riddle.

To me, it's obvious that higher users lose slightly less in the wires than low users because the energy doesn't sit unused and left to dissipate in the wires.

Do batteries suffer discharge? Having an electrical grid charge a Generac battery that then powers a house and recharges as needed or during off-peak hours is one improvement I think I've read about. Bottom line: don't let it sit in the wires!

Still though, this "more is cheaper" may be less true now than it was like 20 or 40 years ago when there weren't all the standby and recharging equipment we have now in our residences, so it would be interesting to see the current data.

In the meantime, get ready to pay more! I'm locked in until 10/25! by @markmasser

Today, I am thankful we live under the Imperial Measurement System because that extra tenth of a mile in a 5k is FUBAR!

Why are people fat? A lousy 380 calories for 3 grueling miles, that's why!!!

5 mph is 12 minutes per mile.
3 miles at 5 is 36 minutes.
Still a long way to my goal of 1/2 my age or 32 minutes. by @markmasser

"The corps constructed a sill, or an underwater levee, rising from the river bottom to 30 feet below the surface to prevent saltwater intrusion from entering drinking water systems.

Col. Cullen Jones, commander of the corps’ New Orleans district, said saltwater topped the sill Wednesday.

It's height will now be increased to just 5 feet below the river’s surface over the next three weeks, which Jones said should delay saltwater from moving up the river for 10 to 15 days.

If a small psycho comes at you with a knife I'm not sure putting your hands in your pocket and turning away is the correct "diffusing" course of action.
Yes, it tells the animal that you are not a threat, but this is not an ordinary animal, it's a homo sapien.

I'm still mostly walking but I cut more than 7 minutes off of yesterday's time; so at this pace, by my math, I will be running a 5k in under 24 minutes (45-21) in just 3 days!
