I posted this earlier on Facebook with more photos but I picked 10 from the batch to make a post here on Instagram as :
At 3:00 am this morning my father Walter Gordon Sisom finally took his last breath in hospice in his own home. As a veteran, they took him out wrapped in the American Flag. I stood in salute as they took him away. 🇺🇸🫡💔
Those that are longtime friends of mine have heard all the stories and know what a elite, bad ass soldier he was, but for the rest of you that don’t know the details here is it wrapped up in somewhat of a nutshell (continued below in comments since IG won’t let me fit it all here): taken in Indiantown, Florida by @marksisom_

This post is for me, not you guys, but to put some fire under my ass to get my surf mojo back! 💪Yesterdays experience at the NJ boardriders competition reminded me of how fun it is, and how rad it is to be part of this community for so long. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who encouraged me to jump in! And special thanks to my homie @murphsrh for putting some 🔥under my ass! 🙏🏼

Remember like it was yesterday. That morning as I was driving to work while listening to the radio it came on that the first tower was hit. As I was going over the Driscoll Bridge I looked over to my right and saw it on fire just it was about to fall. By the time I got to the office the first building fell and the second one was hit and about to fall. It fell as we were all watching it on a monitor. We all got sent home that day. The next day I was laid off because all the clients called and halted all their work. That moment started my full-time push with my independent contracting business.
Sooo, since there was a pumping south swell that day my homie @surfsarge and I went on the wave hunt and ended up checking out Sandy Hook and the Atlantic Highlands and saw this exact view that you see in this photo. We ended up back down in Deal to actually paddle out and surf, but could still see the smoke from there. The waves were firing but it was really bittersweet and hard to be happy about it, obviously.
I’m not gonna get into who was really behind 9/11, but any of you with half a brain that’s been paying attention knows who was really behind it, and let’s just say it was a combination of an “inside job” + another particular country that has a chokehold grip on the United States (most of you know damn well who I’m talking about at this point) behind it all.

We finally put my father away today.
He was honored today by Special Forces, Honor Guard veterans gun salute, VFW and American Legion.
Amazing words from family friend Pastor Ed.

#BlastFromThePast (3 slides - two track listings for each set + the flyer from the show):
All the way back on a late-summer night in 2001 (ignore the incorrect dates on first screenshot), 4 days after 9/11, two OG bands from the beginnings of the “Dub rock” style that @sublime blew up, one from the East Coast one from the West Coast, #BarryAndThePenetrators and @slightlystoopid played a show together at an old bar club called Hooligans by the train tracks in Long branch New Jersey. It was an epic night, our guitar amp malfunctioned and Miles was kind enough to let us use his amp to get through our set! History was made for the local New Jersey music scene, and friendships were forged that night. In fact one of my best friends conceived his son that night! 🤣🤣🤣
Flash forward today and both sets that were recorded directly from the soundboard by us to CD that night have finally been bounced into MP3’s and put into a folder. Special thanks to Reid from @stoopidheads account who collaborated with us to get the Stoopid set list track names figured out!
Until getting further collaboration permission from SS on what to do with the live tracks, we can share a link to folder of MP3‘s of both sets privately with those who give a follow, share the post, and simply kindly ask us. ✌️😎❤️ taken in Jersey Shore, New Jersey by @marksisom_
