10 years ago, the Belmar Pro was the very first event Coffee Surf ever showed up to. We were just getting started, pouring coffee, meeting people, chasing an idea and hoping it could turn into something.

A decade later, Coffee Surf is still here — still serving the surf community, still showing up, and still proud to be part of one of the best weekends on the Jersey Shore.

25 years of the Belmar Pro.
10 years of Coffee Surf.
A whole lot of waves, coffee, friendships, music and memories in between.

Huge love to everyone who has supported us from that very first event until now. We wouldn’t be here without you.

Yes! The 2nd Annual Asbury Park Reggae Festival was held at Low Dive AP on the boardwalk on Saturday. We played, we swayed and joined together to send love and positivity into the collective consciousness. It was a gorgeous day and the music was righteous! Is it really another year until the next one? 😉

It was an honor to perform with @dubproof Big ups to all them super talented cats! Thanks to everyone behind the scenes making it all happen, volunteers and sponsors and to all the beautiful people who came to support local reggae music. Your presence is a gift that reaches deep in the heart. ❤️

If you are ever in the dark, before searching for the light, search for the vibration, the frequency, that lifts you. The light will follow and clear the way to knowledge and understanding. It will guide you to the community that connects and completes you. ✨

Just a reminder, I’ve been in the game for decades. I never left… I left the public. Here’s a piece of my history. I used to go during the day and sometimes hours before work at Masquerade & Xs because they had a beautiful Technics Reel 2 Reel. I’d do my own edits and play them later at night. We didn’t have computers, we had tape.

All the way back on a late-summer night in 2001 (ignore the incorrect dates on first screenshot), 4 days after 9/11, two OG bands from the beginnings of the “Dub rock” style that @sublime blew up, one from the East Coast one from the West Coast, #BarryAndThePenetrators and @slightlystoopid played a show together at an old bar club called Hooligans by the train tracks in Long branch New Jersey. It was an epic night, our guitar amp malfunctioned and Miles was kind enough to let us use his amp to get through our set! History was made for the local New Jersey music scene, and friendships were forged that night. In fact one of my best friends conceived his son that night! 🤣🤣🤣
Flash forward today and both sets that were recorded directly from the soundboard by us to CD that night have finally been bounced into MP3’s and put into a folder. Special thanks to Reid from @stoopidheads account who collaborated with us to get the Stoopid set list track names figured out!
Until getting further collaboration permission from SS on what to do with the live tracks, we can share a link to folder of MP3‘s of both sets privately with those who give a follow, share the post, and simply kindly ask us. ✌️😎❤️

This band @dubproof is how my husband @nickpaolise and I met in 2009 at what was Mattison Park in Asbury at the time. Some of the faces have changed over the years but the music remains; the players improve; and dedication to the craft slowly rises above everything else. The responsibility of a musician to share and receive is one of great vulnerability and determination. They understand the sacredness of frequency and vibration and let everything else in their known world melt away to meet the Divine. They killed it on Sunday at @shoregrowhydro ‘s event at @happy.sanctuary ✨♥️💛💚✨ a beautiful day for beautiful souls! Thanks to all musicians everywhere who continue to share and remain vulnerable.

First, I wanna give credit to @case.kenny for posting this. Second I wanna address this AI crap. If you saw my story, you know how I feel. If you actually know me, you know how I support real talent from real people.
If you’re making a flyer / ad or whatever, and you’re like me, no real artistic ability to draw, then I suggest you reach out to someone that does. Pay em or trade or bake em cookies? But if you expect anyone to show up at your gig, because of your talent / skills / ability, then it’s your job to share the love with others who shine. Help a new artist by having em draw ya something! Music isn’t made BY machines, it uses machines to be able to share it. Know the difference. Wanna learn more, then make an effort, and if ya do know more, share it with those that don’t.
I highly recommend spending some time at your local record shop and see for yourself how strong the ANALOG world is and how quickly it’s growing. Have a blessed Sunday y’all. ✌️

So Gene Weiss speaking of Donovan Surfing the Inlet 2 out of 4 of these photos are good the two of him clocking the lip straight up are a little soft. That's why they were easy to find, I can't find the ones quite yet that I sent to Surfing and Mez at ESM. But I will, I just want people to see the level of Surfing Donovan does, and did back in Aug of 1995, when Jacky Meyer brought him to the Inlet for Hurricane Felix.

I must add on a borrowed Byrne Surfboard, he never road it before! !I'll find the tack sharp ones, as I go through all these books of Slide Sheets. Crazy how many of them I have to go through.

I was a Snowboard Rep in the 90's, that gave me a really good chance to get together with the Really good Snowboarders, Shoot the First U.S. Open Snowboard Contests and Contribute to some of the Snowboard Magazines. Starting to find a few of those Photos in my massive amount of Tubs of Slide Sheets. I recently had a sheet of Photos show up from an Envelope of Slide Sheets returned to me from ESM. They came back to me after Mez and Duggie did their last Issue of the Paper Edition of ESM Surf Magazine which is sorely missed by everyone on the East Coast, Surfers and Photographers alike. The Snowboard Shots were in there, because the guys in these Photos Surfed as good as they Snowboarded. That's why they were sent to Mez to begin with. This Photo of my Good Friend Tony Lincoln from Va. Bch, Va. who is a ripping Surfer, Skater and as you will see by this photo a ridiculously ripping Snowboarder too. He's also a Great Rep in the Surf and back then the Snowboard Industry too. I used to Stay with Tony and Cathie Lincoln up at Stowe, Vt whenever I was on the road and going that way. They were nice enough to put me up always. Tony could ride anything, an Alpine Board, a Racing Alpine Board or a Freestyle Board. As you will see by this photo he was the master of laying down big swooping carves, no matter which board he was on.

This is my 3rd Post from the Trip to Tavarua, this one is for my Friend and Ripper Shayne Boyle. I've known Shayne probably since he was like 10yrs Old. He had an edge on most kids his age and older back then physically. He was always a talented athlete. Surfing, Skiing, Skating, and then later on Snowboarding, Squash, there wasn't much he wasn't good at. I used to scoop him up and take him to Surf Contests when he was a kid. He became quite a good Surfer, then when he gained some weight and grew into his body, he was a full on power Surfer. Shayne and Rodrigo met in the water at New York Ave in Sea Girt and became buds. Rod invited him to go with us to Tavaura to be that 2nd Surfer on the Trip who we knew we could count on to charge any wave you threw at him be it 2' to 20'. Off we went half way around the World to Surf and Shoot Cloudbreak. Shayne opened some eyes on the Island of Tavarua, the Fijian's were comparing him to Hawaiin Surfer Chava Greenlee who had visited the Island. And the Pro Surfer Girls who were there at the same time as us, all were telling him how good he was. Which to Shayne meant a lot these Girls were some of the top Surfers in the World. When I find those Photos, I'll post them too. Shayne went out there in his Grateful Dead Dancing Bears sleeveless shirt and blew the place up on the small days first, then when it got real he went out and really shined. All the rest of the Surfers in the Camp kinda moved over when Shayne paddled into the Line-Up. It wasn't intimidation, it was respect. Cloudbreak is no joke, it's a serious wave over serious Reef, and if your charging it and ripping it the Surfers there didn't challenge you they respected you. And Shayne got that respect as did Rodrigo. So good to Travel with you buddy, Love ya bro.

2nd Post from the Tavarua Trip July 1993 Rodrigo Mendes, son of Brazilian Jazz Musician and Producer Sergio Mendes RIP, came to the East Coast to go to School in NYC. Already a ripping Surfer at that time we met at a Surf Shop, he was with his friend Craig Mangio who brought him to NJ for the West Winds and we all became instant friends. For the next few years Rod would call me to check the waves and come down to surf NJ with the crew at the Inlet. He was accepted & became part of the crew at the Inlet, Great Guy. He became one of my closest friends.This Post is for Rodrigo and the next Post is for Shayne Boyle. They were the two key guys on this trip to Tavarua in Fiji. Rodrigo being the Organizer, the Writer, and ripped Cloudbreak at this crazy beautiful Outer Island Paradise. And Shayne being the other significant ripping Surfer on the trip.Rodrigo Mendes, is the same kind of World Traveler and Island Wave Surfer, this was not Rod's first trip to Tavvy. He knows this wave as I found out from his first session out there, he knew right where to be, and exactly how to surf it. Which seriously worked out in my favor for my first few sessions out there Surfing Cloudbreak. He couldn't have the Surf Photographer getting hammered, he schooled me, showed me the ropes, where to sit what to line up with, and thank God he did. Although I paid my dues when it got bigger a couple of times, no one is immune, if you surf it proper it will happen.Rodrigo on the other hand did nothing but shine the whole time we were there. He had his Helmet and Glasses, the right boards, every day had his Water, Granola and Almond M&M's to keep him fueled up, and because of his past experience he continued to stay out in the water longer than any of us crushing it the whole time. The guy had endless energy. And I thank you my friend for taking care of me and showing me the ropes out at Cloudbreak. I got some of the best waves of my life in the AM. Then I would shoot from the boats all day! It was an experienceof a lifetime, dangerous but insane! A Trip I'll never, ever forget. Thank you it was Magic! I love ya brother!
