let my life be proof of His love

here i am Lord, send me.

a deep transformation begins when you wholeheartedly dedicate yourself to serving God, especially when called to distant lands. It’s not about chasing recognition or applause, but about surrendering your heart and hands to a purpose bigger than yourself. with my missionary trip, it’s in the moments of selfless giving, in the acts of compassion towards the broken, and in the unwavering faith during trials that i truly discover the depth of His love. serving God isn’t always easy; it requires sacrifice, humility, and a willingness to step outside of our comfort zones. but it’s in those very moments of vulnerability and obedience that we find our strength, our purpose, and an unshakeable connection to the Lord.

what a blessing it is to be used by the Father.

oh, and I danced for Jesus with some of God’s kids. that was pretty cool.

I sought the Lord,
and He met me there.

in the stillness of the woods, God reminded me of the woman at the well. she came carrying her water jug, but after meeting Jesus, she left it behind and ran to tell others about Him.

Come see a man who knows me and invites me.

Come see a man who dines with me.

Come see a man that waits for me after everything I have done.

sometimes you have to step away from the noise to realize God has been intentionally waiting for you in the quiet all along.

I didn’t know I was living in the days I’d soon wish to go back to. I didn’t know these feelings would hit so hard. I didn’t know these days would become memories so soon.

a summer full of little moments I didn’t know I’d miss this much. late nights, side quests, friends, and memories that somehow became the kind I’ll keep forever.
and now August is ending. my best friend is off to college, I’m starting nursing school, and life looks a little different than it did when this summer began.
I think I’m learning that growing up isn’t about holding onto every season, but it’s about being grateful you got to live it. so grateful for this one, and trusting God with the next.

“before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.” Jeremiah 1:5
I’m trying to believe this, but if you know me, you know my condition too. I was knit together in the womb with dysfunctional hips.
Lord you knew my hips would tremble, my body would betray me and my mind would never quit, yet you promise that you hold good plans. My body is a temple of the most perfect Holy Spirit, but my hips shake and fail?
Lord was I created to be set apart? To watch the world from the sidelines? these are questions I ask myself almost daily as a follower of Jesus.
When I look at Jeremiah, I realize that he wasn’t set apart from sorrow, he was set apart on it. his tears represented the soil where his calling grew.
maybe Jeremiah’s soil is my story. being “set apart” doesn’t make me escape sorrow- but carry it faithfully. I’m learning to let truth and tears linger in the same breath and trust my most perfect father.
the strongest people are not the ones unbothered by pain, but the ones who refuse to let pain make them unfaithful to their calling.
maybe God didn’t form me around my condition, maybe he chose me through if. Maybe the weakness and pain was God saying, “let me bring peace.”
or maybe it was the canvas where His strength is proven.
My condition isn’t a punishment or a mistake, it’s a place where God formed time in my life for Himself. A place where he would eventually meet me, I just had to be patient.
God didn’t chose me for a trial or a story, He used me as a billboard for His everlasting promise.

this wasn’t my first surgery, and wasn’t my first time struggling with my faith. with this second surgery, I’ve learned what it’s like to trust God as much in the valleys as the mountain tops and give Him all glory.

God, You are my everything

I stepped into this week, unexpectant for a change. I showed up being controlled by anxiety, flashbacks of past trauma, fear for the future and tired of feeling distant from God. I was hesitant to surrender everything to God because I was scared of the outcome. I’ve been stubborn and frustrated towards Him for making me feel distant, but in reality, I haven’t invited Him in my life daily in several months. I went in to camp blaming Him for things that He let happen to my relationships & family, questioning why he would put me through that.

I walked out of camp with a changed heart. God loves me too far to leave me where I am. He says there WILL be trouble and valleys but that’s why we have to lean on Him. I can’t go through life alone- I’ll fail. God is making a masterpiece out of my life, but He can’t until I give him every part of me. This week I learned and practiced giving parts of me that I’ve been hiding to God. What God doesn’t have ahold of, the devil has access to. I want my life to be a representation of Jesus’ life. He is my priority and all knowing. He restores all broken things. He restored me & he wants/ will restore you. Invite Him in.

it’s not about how long I hold on, it’s about how he never lets go

what a God

if creation sings your praises, so will i

the more time I spend outside, the more i see my God glorified. the more i realize that His creation really does worship Him. the more i understand that i was created to do the same thing; exalt and glorify the one true creator.

“cause I loved you before you knew it was love
and I saw it all, still, I chose the cross
and you were the one that I was thinking of when I rose from the grave
now rid of the shackles, my victory is yours
I tore the veil for you to come close
there’s no reason to stand at a distance anymore, you’re not far from home.”

i often catch myself standing at a distance , instead of running into the open arms of the only One who is worthy. this song has opened my eyes to what God has done for me, and what he wants me to do. He asks me to stop hiding, and abide in Him.

i don’t know if these lyrics are the exact words of the Lord, but i like to imagine them as being that. I feel like through this song, He tells me his perspective on me hiding , and shying away from Him. the more i sing the words of my Father, the more i believe them, and my heart becomes soft to know that He means every word. this song says that i was the one He was thinking of when He rose from the grave. sometimes i feel as though I might not know what my purpose is, or if i even have one, and that lyric opens my heart to resting in the fact that Jesus died for me, and i hold a purpose in His kingdom.“No need to be frightened by intimacy, no, just throw off your fear and come running to Me.” this song constantly reminds me that I shouldn’t be afraid to be vulnerable to the Lord, and that i am always welcome home, no matter what. as I read my Bible more and more, i realize that God puts so much emphasis on children, and their purpose. I’ve started learning more about child like faith and how to lessen myself to make my Savior greater. I feel as though the Lord speaks to me through these lyrics, reminding me to lessen myself as a child, and allow Him to become greater.

“the evidence is all around, that the Spirit of the Lord is here.”

I am in awe of the Lord, forever. i stepped into camp this week as a youth pastor, with a brand new group of students, who i never thought would have such a huge impact on my life. c group was full of conversation about sigma alpha & skibii rizz on Monday, to all of us sobbing, holding onto each other after 5 decided to dedicate their life to the only Alpha. my girls who are unashamed to sing at the top of their lungs and dance like no body is watching. I lead a group of 12, 6th grade girls, and I wouldn’t trade that group for the world. childlike faith is so pure & beautiful and to be able to be leader to these girls and teach them that the greatest in the kingdom is kids, was so powerful.

I believe that modeling what it’s like to love Jesus and showing what it’s like to have a strong relationship with Him, is exactly my calling. this week, I was able to show + teach my girls how I worship, pray, communicate, and LIVE, all because of being full of the Lord. 169 baptisms, 5 being my girls, is just a direct reflection of God’s presence in the past couple days.

there is so much importance in investing in the next generation. I am certain that this next generation will hold so much truth in the church, and every single student would chase after God with everything in them. seeing what God can do in a short span is so incredible, and I can’t even fathom what God can do in a lifetime with such pure childlike faith.

but, God. by @marleyb20
