She's from Texas, I can tell by the way
He's two steppin' 'round the room
And judgin' by the smile that's written on his face
There's nothin' I can do
It doesn't take a crystal ball to see
A cowboy always finds a way to leave
Drinkin' Jack all by myself

🌿💙 The Mysterious Three Eyes Cave — Dominican Republic 🇩🇴

Hidden just outside Santo Domingo is one of the Dominican Republic’s most fascinating natural treasures: Los Tres Ojos — “The Three Eyes.”

Step down into the limestone caves and you’ll discover three stunning freshwater lagoons glowing in shades of turquoise and deep blue. The name comes from the three natural openings—or “eyes”—formed within the cave system. There is also a fourth lagoon, Los Zaramagullones, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and reached by a small boat.

The caves have a fascinating history. Long before European arrival, the Taíno people used these caves, which were considered important places for shelter, water, and ritual. Today, visitors can descend the stairs into the cool, dramatic cavern and see the beautiful limestone formations and crystal-clear water.

One of the most magical things about Los Tres Ojos is the way sunlight enters through the openings in the cave, making the water appear almost unreal—like a hidden Caribbean jewel beneath the earth. ✨💎

Fun facts about Puerto Rico:
Puerto Rico is the 60th country I have ever visited.
Salsa is originally from Puerto Rico.
Puerto ricans know how to enjoy life, any age of people are dancing everywhere, on the street, at the cafes, at the simple restaurants and even at the car parks.
It's part of USA territory, so you need USA Visa to enter Puerto Rico.
If you fly from the USA you arrive at the domestic airport & vice versa, you don't go through the immigration center.
Luckily I have a 3 year USA Visa as I didn't know about that before I booked my trip to Puerto Rico 😂. by @marlyn.sky

Who do you think Columbus was?
What side of the history book they told you?
The great explorer and hero or someone that started the New World, the beginning of colonization, the exploitation of Indigenous peoples, and the transatlantic slave trade that followed.

Santo Domingo was the first permanent European city in the Americas. It was the center of Spain's early colonial empire in the New World.
The arrival of Columbus dramatically changed the lives of the Taíno people. European diseases such as smallpox, along with warfare, forced labor, and harsh colonial policies, caused their population to decline rapidly. This is one of the most tragic chapters in Caribbean history.

Several sites connected to this history, including:
Columbus Lighthouse, a massive monument dedicated to Columbus.
Alcázar de Colón, built for Columbus's son, Diego Columbus.
Colonial City of Santo Domingo, where many of the oldest European buildings in the Americas still stand. taken in Dominican Republic by @marlyn.sky

I visited Jamaica, specifically Kingston, drawn by its renowned Reggae music and legendary artist Bob Marley and his legacy, but felt disappointed as I couldn't find the vibrant reggae streets that once showcased live music by Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, and other Jamaican musicians. Instead, I traveled up a narrow, winding road full of potholes to a club operated by Bob Marley's heirs, expecting reggae live music, but was let down to find they mostly played contemporary hits with occasional live performances, often relying on DJ sets. It's disheartening to see Jamaica, a country with breathtaking beauty, talented musicians, and resilient people, lacking governmental support for local artists. Mandating establishments to feature live music could greatly benefit the music scene. Unfortunately, infrastructure issues, such as poorly maintained roads and dilapidated heritage buildings, further detract from the island's appeal. taken in Kingston, Jamaica by @marlyn.sky
